thoughtful video essays detailed
character origins and insightful
commentary mojo plays games smarter for
this list we’re considering games that
just didn’t provide a good enough
experience and left us wondering why we
had to pay so much for so little
Interpol agent chun-li isn’t it what
brings you here I’m here on a lead that
shadaloo operative Vega is in the area
number 10 super Bomberman our
competitors take part in groups of three
battling it out in a contest of skill
and teamwork Konami hasn’t exactly been
the gaming community’s best friend in
recent years but they did nail super
Bomberman are the game’s addictive the
visuals are charming as Bomberman should
be
multiplayer is a blast pun intended
however 50 bucks is just a little too
high for a game that gets a little bit
repetitive after a few hours for a title
that feels kind of arcade ish this could
have easily sold it 20 maybe 30 bucks
but at least they’ve released some extra
content for free it’s nice to see those
number nine Animal Crossing amiibo
festival it’s so hard to hate how the
Animal Crossing games when they’re just
so damn cute
however amiibo festival just screamed
cash grab for $60 you get Isabelle and
Digby amiibos and for the rest of the
collection well you’re gonna have to pay
extra for those it’s no surprise that
this game comes off as kind of a total
ripoff especially when the developers
himself stated that they made the game
just because they wanted to create more
Animal Crossing amiibos why not make the
game free to play and just make money
off the plastic jump it could have
potentially been a big hit had Nintendo
when it comes to advertising your game
it is important that you are accurate in
letting people know what is actually in
it and that’s something the developers
of Nomad scan I didn’t exactly nail so
to ask $60.00 for a game that no one
really knew much about was a bold
mistake top that with the absence of
many features that were advertised and
many players felt cheated out of their
money it’s nice to see that the game has
a following and that hello Games is
pushing out free updates that are
admittedly high quality but that initial
punch to the wallet was very hard for a
oh we could feel the backlash on this
one at lunch Street Fighter 5 was a
disaster due to its absolute lack of
content sure it had a versus mode to let
you play with friends but was that
really worth 60 bucks where’s the Arcade
Mode almost every fighting game has an
arcade mode and the story mode well we
shouldn’t be able to finish every
character story arc in less than two
hours basically there just wasn’t any
meat on this game’s bones despite them
putting reuse big biceps on the cover
Capcom has released more content since
but we’re really hoping that they’ve
learned their lesson when Street Fighter
6 releases or maybe the next 20 versions
okay did anyone else cringe when they
saw the trailer for this sure some
people might have been convinced that
this was the next wee sport but a lot of
people can already tell that one to
switch was probably not going to move a
lot of units so with that in mind to get
people to play it you’d think they’d
package this game with a switch right
nope that’ll be 50 bucks what for a game
that is essentially a tech demo that
certainly was not worth the price for an
already expensive console had Nintendo
packaged the game with the switch
reviews may have been a little bit more
positive now it’s simply the
laughingstock of the library number 5
ship to the bottom
all right if you’re buying a game based
on a movie we already have questions for
you that is unless you bought battleship
in which case just our condolences dude
battleship demanded a full $60 price tag
for a game that was just really bad we
don’t know about you but a game with a
campaign that only lasts for hours
coupled with some of the messiest
gameplay ever well we wouldn’t even pay
10 why would you anyway there’s not even
a multiplayer mode which was you know
kind of the entire point of the original
board game but that wasn’t a shooter
number four Ark survival evolved
look the hole drop into an unknown world
survive the mysterious land thing is
nothing new but aside from the
prehistoric setting why should we buy
this while Ark starts off alright when
you play it for the first time there’s
not much reason to stick around when the
gameplay doesn’t do much to
differentiate itself from other survival
games on top of that the DLC is just way
too pricey to buy the base game and all
DLC is over a hundred bucks so just like
you want to know what really sucks
paying full price for an online
multiplayer game only to find that most
of the content has been walled off into
paid DLC well that’s pretty much what it
felt like at launch evolve had such
little content that fans quickly left
after the game launched things got a lot
worse when Turtle Rock Studios announced
in 2016 that the game was going
free-to-play that felt like a giant
middle finger to those that had paid the
full 60 bucks and what did they get just
some extra goodies for their loyalty the
Evolve was just underwhelming until the
end
number two the order 1886 joining the
stroll in the park are we I think quite
like a chilly London morning to
stimulate the senses typically triple-a
games give you a ton of content or at
least they used to for 60 bucks with a
main campaign lasting about 12 to 20
hours so the order simply failed to
deliver in every way after so much hype
by forking over your hard-earned cash
you get a game that takes between six to
eight hours to beat and very little
replay value the reliance on a cinematic
experience isn’t remarkable enough to
justify the price tag either it almost
comes off as a tech demo our advice if
you really want to play it buy it on
sale but even have to produced $20 price
it’s currently sitting at that’s a bit
[Music]
number one star wars battlefront EA
how do you mess up two big titles that
were supposed to be the shooters of the
year in 2015 the return of battlefront
was welcomed only for it to clumsily
fall right on its greedy face get this
ea wanted players to pay 60 bucks with
an additional $50 for a season pass the
game felt unfinished lacking in content
and overall just kind of meant then for
what was supposed to be an apology for
2015’s game battlefront to trick
millions of players when they discovered
that the game relied on a heat a wind
system with star cards and Luke boxes in
the span of three years players were
robbed of $60 not once but twice
