the mouse house has taken over welcome
to watchmojo.com and today we’ll be
counting down our picks for the top 10
things we want to happen now that Disney
is bought Fox I can’t even tell you that
– no no no no no no maybe maybe not the
nethers start talking before we begin we
publish new videos every day so be sure
to subscribe for more great content for
this list we’re taking a look at things
that would ideally come to fruition from
the Walt Disney Company’s takeover of
21st Century Fox number 10
Fox properties at Disney World Disney
and Fox have a history Disney acquired
Lucasfilm in 2012 but the Star Tours
attraction actually opened at Disneyland
back in 1987 and since then Disney
announced several more Star Wars theme
park attractions most notably the
galaxy’s edge area before news even
broke the Disney and thoughts were
negotiating a merger pandora the world
of Avatar debuted at Disney’s Animal
Kingdom in 2017 so seeing as how Disney
has already done such a great job with
huge Fox properties why stop there they
could populate disney world with
attractions based on franchises like
alien Independence Day Planet of the
Apes
predator and x-men they could even open
a restaurant modeled after the
McCallister’s house from home alone
serving up pizza for the whole family
number nine more diversity
[Music]
while whitewashing remains one of the
most serious issues in Hollywood
Disney has made a genuine effort to push
for diversity in the animated realm
Moana explored Polynesian culture while
Pixar’s Koko revolved around the Mexican
holiday Day of the Dead the cast of
Zootopia might have been animals but
underneath all that fur is a timely
commentary about racial tensions the
Star Wars films in particular have
shined a spotlight on a diverse ensemble
most notably creating one of the most
empowering heroines in recent memory
Disney has come a long way since Song of
the South and hopefully they’ll continue
to showcase a diverse array of
performers filmmakers and stories with
their Fox properties number 8 no toning
down edgy or more mature shows through
his timeless films Walt Disney proved
that animation could entertain audiences
of all ages just as significantly The
Simpsons proved that animation could be
just as much for adults as it is for
kids
Family Guy took this a step further
pushing for controversial humor you
definitely wouldn’t see in a Mickey
Mouse cartoon it’s a wonderful day
Popeye you can ask fall apart in the sky
that being said we hope Disney doesn’t
try to tone down Fox’s more mature TV
shows this place is no picnic but it
sure beats working for Disney
oh yeah Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin
became animated icons by pushing the
envelope and Disney shouldn’t be afraid
to endorse their edgy appeal the same
can be said about dramas like American
Horror Story say imagine if twisty the
clown dropped into the haunted mansion I
feel it would be less polite
remove your mask number seven original
Star Wars trilogy on blu-ray
previously when Disney bought the
distribution rights to all the future
Star Wars movies 20th Century Fox kept
the physical distribution rights to the
original trilogy as well as the prequel
trilogy but now with the whole package
in Disney’s possession the theatrical
cuts many audiences grew up with could
finally be released on blu-ray no matter
how you feel about the 1997 special
edition and the subsequent changes
George Lucas made most fans would agree
that the unaltered versions deserve to
be made available on a home video format
other than VHS or DVD of course we’d
still want Disney to keep the restored
picture quality to make for the best
viewing experience possible
this special enhanced version Greek
because another enhanced version will
likely be coming out for 2003 number 6
keeping Deadpool rated R oh hello I know
right whose balls did I have to fondle
to get my very own movie Deadpool
surprise Fox by not only out grossing
the other x-men movies at the box office
but also scoring the biggest opening
weekend ever for an r-rated flick
although Fox has embraced Deadpool’s
r-rated brand we’re afraid that the
family-friendly Disney might enforce
more restrictions as funny as Deadpool’s
animated appearance on ultimate
spider-man was the showrunners had to
keep the language and violence to a
minimum booby-traps censoring Deadpool
on Disney XD is one thing but silencing
the Merc with the mouth on the big
screen is just bad business actually Fox
tried giving us a pg-13 Deadpool in
x-men origins Wolverine and we all know
how that turned out
don’t make the same mistake Disney what
do you do if a my number 5 supporting
small productions they’re cute these
people
look at their eyes they’re all sparkling
they love the shit they love one they
love action not this talky depressing
philosophical bullshit while Fox has
produced some of the biggest movies of
all time they’ve also done wonders for
smaller productions Fox Searchlight
Pictures has distributed one indie
treasure after another including Best
Picture winners like Slumdog Millionaire
12 years of slave and Birdman where Fox
has taken numerous chances on arthouse
features however Disney has developed a
reputation for primarily focusing on
massive blockbusters and franchises with
the occasional exception we’re keeping
our fingers crossed that Fox Searchlight
will continue to look out for the little
guy under Disney’s control as much as we
love the MCU in Star Wars
that doesn’t mean films like the shape
of water deserve to fall through the
cracks
number four Hulu not turning into a
Disney network streaming giant Netflix
has made several deals with Disney most
notably collaborating to produce gritty
Marvel dramas like Daredevil and Jessica
Jones in 2017 though it was announced
that Disney would be pulling its movies
from Netflix is library and launching
their own streaming service in 2019 the
plot thickens with Disney’s merger with
Fox which has a 30% stake in Hulu since
Disney also owns 30% of the streaming
service with the addition of Fox Disney
now has a majority ownership of 60%
hopefully that doesn’t mean that Hulu
will exclusively stream Disney and Fox
properties as NBC Universal and Time
Warner have some great content to offer
as well we never go to Times Square and
we love saying number three quality
control this will begin to make things
right
Disney is currently hitting it out of
the park with their own films both
live-action and animated they’ve managed
to pull this off while also juggling
Pixar Marvel and Star Wars through their
acquisition with Fox Disney would
inherit numerous other mega lucrative
properties as awesome as this might
sound however the mouse house might be
taking on more responsibilities than
they can handle
with so many projects lined up it’s
possible that some might suffering
quality and there just might not be room
for all of them on the release schedule
granted if there’s an entertainment
juggernaut that can make it work its
Disney still sometimes the less you
owned the more you have big man and a
suit of armor take that off what are you
genius billionaire playboy
philanthropist number two saving the
Alien and Predator franchises
[Music]
two prominent properties that will be
joining the Disney family through this
deal are Alien and Predator both of
which have admittedly seen better days
Prometheus predators and alien covenant
all received mixed responses from
critics and audiences it’ll be
interesting to see if Disney can get
these sci-fi franchises back on track
just as they’ve done with Star Wars
seeing out Disney raised the bar for
crossovers with the MCU they also might
be able to accomplish something Fox
never could producing a truly great
alien vs. predator movie as with
Deadpool it’s hard to say if Disney
would allow an r-rating in any case
however they can’t possibly do any worse
than Requiem
number one x-men and Fantastic Four
joining the MCU say that again it’s
fantastic
[Music]
yes it is spider-man joining the MCU was
a dream come true but getting the x-men
and Fantastic Four in there would be a
miracle
how should Disney introduce these
superhero teams though given the
Fantastic Four’s poor cinematic track
record it’d be best to just start fresh
unless they want Chris Evans to play
Captain America and the Human Torch with
x-men would it be better to completely
reboot or somehow make their current
films part of the MCU continuity if they
take the latter route how would they
explain the presence of two
quicksilver’s maybe they should just
start off by having the Avengers team-up
with Wolverine especially since Hugh
Jackman is retired from the role now
make it happen what is this place do you
