jeez Louise what is that welcome to
watchmojo.com and today we’ll be
counting down our picks for the top ten
Star Fox bosses this part of the
engineering isn’t it
for this list we’ll be looking at boss
battles that span across the starfox
series and choosing the ones which left
a memorable impact on us as players for
how well they captured the intensity of
Space Flight combat that’s the end of it
number 10
doom worm starfox command
it just had to be a giant worm didn’t it
possibly inspired by a similar looking
monster described in Frank Herbert’s
dune this hideous creature is a
bioweapon which swims through the thick
seas of sand on the planet titania
eliminating anything which crosses its
path an impressively large battle for
the DS handheld this boss is a
pulse-pounding game of peekaboo as the
green Goliath goes from burrowing
underground to making massive leaps into
the air
however through some careful maneuvering
and well-placed shots the starfox team
swats this oversized insect just be sure
to bring some pesticide next time okay
guys
number nine spy borg starfox 64 now this
is the secret weapon next up on our list
is this robot which aimlessly drift
through the shambles of a space station
in Sector X sent to investigate the area
the starfox team swerves through debris
in search of what is being called the
enemy’s secret weapon once it appears it
helps to show why some things are better
left unfound where if you create your
rookie thing a force to be reckoned with
the robot viciously flails its arms
attempting to destroy anything and it’s
bad hair as you blast spy bored to
smithereens you can’t help but feel a
little sorry for it as it was just
trying to find its creator
I must be copy number 8 great commander
starfox starfox team can’t catch a break
and a another sizable boss battle the
great commander is made up of three
smaller pieces which warm together to
create a massive mechanical menace
soaring across the screen showing off
the impressive super FX graphics the
game had at the time
the great commander can only be damaged
if shot on one of its very miniscule
weak points but to ask easier said than
done considering how much this boss
moves around in the end the boss is more
proof that no matter how big the enemy
the starfox team is up for the challenge
number 7 monarch de Dora
Star Fox zero let’s pluck this overgrown
chicken this twin-headed bird first
appeared in the original Star Fox on the
SNES although he was a bit more of a
pushover in his debut in his 2016 return
however this bird wasn’t gonna be
flapping about no more you have to
destroy all four of his weak points but
three of them are really hard to hit due
to their small size and the point on his
tail firing back that really powerful
laser
you can also whip up a series of
whirlwinds that can mess up your ride
and just when you thought he was done he
may appear in deep space again as the
cosmic de Dora nice birdie right because
I’m a bird we must be friends come on
number six Gorgon Star Fox 64 ethical
floor this is one heck of an ultimate
weapon deployed is the last line of
defense for ant Ross’s home world’s
venom this gargantuan machine definitely
lives up to its Job Description
providing a hefty challenge for the
Starbuck team Gorgon has multiple means
of attack including a devastating energy
beam which takes up nearly the entire
screen Gorgon also has an impenetrable
shield that is only vulnerable after its
tentacle arms and energy balls are
destroyed
after a close fight like this let’s hope
that Andres doesn’t have any more
ultimate weapons up his sleeve number 5
macbeth starfox 64
talk about the little engine that could
this thrilling boss encounter actually
makes up the entire level with the
macbeth drone attached to a lengthy
train that seems to go on forever
appropriately titled the forever train
there’s the train using the trusty land
master the player chases the train
blowing it up piece by piece while still
dealing with enemy fire from all
directions not going down without a
fight
the train eventually deploys the
aforementioned Macbeth in an attempt to
finish you off
yah don’t let them you then
for the most satisfying victory we
recommend shooting those eight hidden
switches to reroute the tracks for a
great big kablooey
number four the a parade Queen starfox
assault starfox team let’s go
time to hit him where it hurts first
things first
destroy the final confrontation in
starfox assault brings you face to face
with the a parade queen leader of an
alien race causing anarchy in the lylat
system
this towering phosphite is insane as
players must blast away the queen’s
protective shielding while
simultaneously dodging incoming
projectiles
the Queen also poses a psychological
threat mimicking the voices of friends
and family to the starfox team in an
attempt to play mind games on them ah
dad that’s not a battle of skill and
will this Queen is still no match for
our anthropomorphic heroes here I come
number three aqua Rosa Star Fox zero
let it be known that if you fly blindly
into wormholes you’re probably not gonna
like what’s on the other side you Rob
where am i with nine heavy laser turrets
an electromagnetic shield that fires
constant pulses and multiple support
aircraft firing missiles at you it’s
certainly not a battle for beginners
if you want to survive this battle you
need to make full use of the Wii U
gamepad’s aiming capabilities while at
the same time keeping an eye on your
surroundings your wingman aren’t here to
back you up either so good luck again
I’m never gonna live this down you got
that right number two and Ross’s brain
starfox 64 now this is a showdown the
main antagonist of the series and Ross
waits for you at the end of his
homeworld venom taunting you as you get
closer and closer now
if the player reaches and Ross on Hard
difficulty they’re treated to an extra
surprise when they think the battle is
over this faceoff provides some of the
greatest moments in the game as he
teleports across the battlefield
proving that and Ross’s noggin isn’t
easy to outsmart
to put the cherry on the cake the player
must then narrowly escape from the
crumbling base Return of the Jedi style
never give up trust your instinct before
we unveil our top pick here are a few
honorable mentions
