and you thought the game ended after the
final boss so many are still waiting for
them in their birth life sweet
welcome to watchmojo.com and she’ll be
counting down our picks for the top ten
post-credit scenes in video games
starting today you’re working for me for
this list we’ve selected the most
memorable and most notable scenes that
occur after the credits have finished
rolling we’re only considering scenes
that begin after all the credits of role
so the Joker’s posthumous phone call
during the credits of Arkham City is for
another list on another day of course
since these scenes take place after the
events of the game have already
concluded beware of spoilers ahead
number 10 Samus disrobes Super Metroid
though you were tempted to go with Dark
Samus rising after the credits of
Metroid Prime we had to choose the
post-credit scene from Super Metroid in
this third installment we once again
follow bounty under Samus Aran as she
tracks down a group of space pirates who
are attempting to weaponize the
Metroid’s creatures who can siphon life
energy the credits roll after defeating
Mother Brain and we finally see Samus
out of her power suit
however she’ll only take off her full
suit if you beat the game in under three
hours any longer or she’ll only take off
her helmet or just give you a thumbs up
number nine dread wolf Dragon Age
Inquisition you should not have given
your orb 2corinthians
red wolf don’t you just love when a game
closes with a jaw-dropping twist that’s
the case with this post credits scene
with the people they need me in Dragon
Age Inquisition the player controls the
Inquisitor a vital figure in the
war-torn fantasy world of status
throughout the game you meet many allies
those soulless leaves after the main
campaign as more than that it was not
supposed to happen this way we find out
why this is after the credits
discovering that an ally that could
potentially have been the players love
interest is actually the god of betrayal
comes as quite a shock and the deception
even feels personal
number eight red 13s future final
fantasy seven this legendary RPG follows
cloud and his allies as they chase
Sephiroth in order to stop him from
becoming a god and destroying the world
with meteor eventually the player is
forced to face him in the iconic final
boss battle the game ends before
revealing whether or not sephiroth’s
meteor destroys the planet but were
given hints in this post-credit scene
its greatness lies in its ambiguity what
happened to Midgard what does that
laughing mean it’s true meaning may
never be known and that’s why it’s so
popular
number seven two figures Telltale’s The
Walking Dead this telltale
point-and-click adventure has a gameplay
that focuses more on problem solving
than combat what happens throughout the
game varies depending on players choices
but regardless of what is chosen the
game retains its dark ending either Lee
is shot by Clementine or he becomes a
walker no matter what happens though the
post credit scene stays the same it’s a
dark way to end the game and that’s why
it’s so memorable even though the first
adventure is over no one left alive is
safe and we can’t wait to see what
happens next
number six
past and present Eggman trapped Sonic
Generations do we ever win that depends
on your definition of win one of Sonic’s
most recent iterations also features the
series most complex plot after dr.
Eggman discovers the time eater entity
he uses it to travel back in time to
enlist the help of his younger self back
when he was known as dr. Robotnik let me
just say that this was a brilliant plan
that you came up with don’t get too
self-righteous it’ll be your plan pretty
soon the game’s final battle has a
modern and classic version of Sonic
taking on a machine built around the
time eater in which the climax results
in the two doctors being sucked into the
timeless void
after they’re defeated we don’t find out
what happened to them until after the
credits while it’s funny to watch these
two argue since they’re the same person
it’s even funnier to watch them decide
to go into teaching that doesn’t give me
much hope maybe I’ll go back and get my
teaching degree that’s not a bad idea
I’ve always enjoyed telling people what
to do number five the spore Beyond Good
and Evil
this cult classic follows Jade and Paige
as they take on Dom Zhi an evil species
of alien that’s attempting to take over
their home planet after rescuing Paige
Jade nearly loses her soul battling the
Dom zi high priest but he’s eventually
victorious ultimately we’re treated to a
happy ending at least until after the
credits that is such a mind-blowing
twist would usually occur before the
credits it wasn’t until the sequel that
we can finally wait oh wait
yeah there’s no sequel so nobody ever
knows what happens next and screw you
you dolt thanks for everything number
four the dance Bayonetta
Bayonetta is ending likes to troll the
player at first when it looks like the
final boss is over the credits start
rolling and surprise bake-out
unbelievable
okay after that is taken care of she
defeats the guide Jubilees us and saves
the world finally one would expect some
kind of tease for a sequel after the
credits but rather were treated to this
the perfect way to cap off such a
stylized game this left us wanting more
than any cliffhanger ever could at least
until Bayonetta – when it’s post credit
scene ends up setting up the first game
okay now I’m really confused number
three a man of taste Conker’s Bad Fur
Day a man of deist whoa
well that cowboy he’d be coming in this
frivolous adult adventure for the n64
one wouldn’t expect such a bleak
resolution conker goes on a wild
adventure after a night of heavy
drinking to find his girlfriend but
ultimately she dies in his arms patio
after the credits we see conker at the
same bar he began the game in drowning
his sorrows yet again – single mom they
hi
no I when he leaves he goes the opposite
direction than he did at the beginning
of the game the callbacks to the opening
scene are what make the ending special
by highlighting the difference in the
tone this ending is dark and depressing
but we still love it anyway I don’t want
to talk about it oh yeah drink well
number 2 Wheatley’s apology portal 2 I
wish I could take it all back I honestly
do I honestly do wish I could take it
all back this lovable AI core pulls a
fast one on you at the end of the first
act of portal 2 assuming the role of the
main antagonist for the rest of the game
in the end though he’s blasted into
space and later we get to see what
becomes of him anything I know who you
are mate
yeah the booth in space is actually
devilishly satisfying to see one of
gaming’s biggest traders get what he
deserves
although Stephen merchants charming
insincere voiceover performance makes us
almost want to forgive the little guy
almost we don’t though I am sorry I was
bossy and monstrous and I am genuinely
sorry anything the end before we unveil
our top pick here are a few honorable
mentions
shinnok was an elder god impossible to
kill there are fates worse than death
call me jack handsome jack
number one wake me when you need me halo
three wake me when you need me the third
installment to the halo series sees
Master Chief finished the fight against
the genocidal covenant and the ravenous
flood
after the halo is destroyed at the
game’s final sequence the main
characters fly away though the explosion
separates the ship in two resulting in
Master Chief and Cortana being left
behind and presumed dead you have my
face for standing by him to the end
particle ladies did the ending scene at
the memorial occurs no matter what but
the after the credits scene only plays
if the game is beaten on the legendary
difficulty reviewing the chief and
Cortana’s fate and ending the original
trilogy beautifully
impressive looking and hard to achieve
this scene is an absolute prize and our
easy pick for number one finished
it’s finished do you agree with our list
which scene was worth the 15-minute wait
to get through for you for more instant
