Country the mines can be a dangerous
place for apes seven levels in Donkey
Kong Country decides to place our
primate heroes donkey and Diddy Kong
into a minecart and send them through
the abandoned monkey mines broken rails
and sudden gaps are exasperated by a
conga line of crocodile light crashes
charging forward in their own mine carts
it’s a healthy dose of action and an
effective change from the usual
platforming gameplay but we can’t help
feeling concerned for the calm safety
number five sovereign power Bayonetta 2
well that’s one way time to tango
sometimes insanity can be magnificent
our lovely magic hair wielding heroine
Bayonetta rides alongside the sage
Balder on her friend Jon’s jet flying
towards a sacred mountain to save the
world the level grants players control
of the jets movements while Bayonetta
fires rockets and Balder hits things
with his staff
it’s frantic and demands both precision
and quick reflexes but you’re rewarded
with an incredible flight sequence a
beautiful mountain backdrop and lots of
fun cannon fodder to destroy plus it’s

intense quiet and loud this is a boat
ride we certainly won’t forget
number two turbo tunnel Battletoads
this is both a classic vehicle section
and a legendary bit of frustrating
gameplay the level in question starts as
normal but the players chosen
battletoads smacking down enemies and
running across the screen then enter the
speeder bike
gameplay shifts from a beat’em up to a
reflex based rail section as your battle
toad must pilot the bike around barriers
and over ramps without crashing
it can be difficult to master the
pattern needed to successfully dodge the
obstacles but it’s worth it for the
gratification you feel after completing
it and the bragging rights also the
iconic sequence makes a return in the
xbox one version of shovel knight
complete with fighting one of the toads
on the speeder bike and the tunnels
