gordon-levitt performances it really is

for this list we’ve assembled the actors
most popular roles as well as his
critically acclaimed turns on both TV
and the big screen basically we’re

show him off at his finest or most
memorable don’t know I agree with that
so if you hadn’t already hopped on the
JGL train now might be a good time to
catch up
number 10 Cameron James 10 Things I Hate
About You I burn pine I perish in this
teen comedy Joseph gordon-levitt plays
Cameron the lovable new kid in school
there’s more to her than you think I
mean look the way she smiles and look at
her eyes man she’s she’s totally pure he
falls for a good girl Bianca Stratford
who is off-limits because her dad won’t
let her go out with boys until her older
sister Kat does you know just cuz you’re
beautiful that doesn’t mean you can
treat people like they don’t matter
based on the Shakespeare play The Taming
of the Shrew the movie also stars Heath
Ledger to whom gordon-levitt is often
compared look you embarrassed the girl
sacrifice yourself on the altar of
dignity and even the score Ledger is
Patrick the bad boy who tries to date
cat while Gordon Levitt’s Cameron tries
to get close to Bianca I’ve heard French
for you and and then she blow me off
soon the movie eventually became a cult
teen classic and also marked Gordon
Levitt Stiller switch from TV to film
after several years of starring on 3rd
Rock from the Sun
back in the day number nine
Chris Pratt the lookout who no not that
Chris Pratt mrs. lang says she’s never
been out of balance yet but the real key
of being good teller is a friendly
personality after surviving a car crash
high school jock Chris must learn to
cope with amnesia and anger management
issues
well I can’t remember any of it I think
of that trying to piece his life
together four years later he starts
working as a janitor at a bank yeah the
power right now in your life Chris huh
Dean I don’t know how many janitors you
not have any kind of power to pick up
huh soon he finds himself on the radar
of a gang from his old high school he’s
all banks mm-hmm that’s right Chris
there oh thanks upon discovering his new
job
their leader played by Matthew Goode
forces him to collaborate on their
scheme to rob the bank whose most
important John Wall look at however
things get tangled up when Chris
suddenly changes his mind and thanks to
Gordon Levitt’s realistic performance
and chemistry with the cast the lookout
is an entertaining and memorable crime
thriller hey now we all got to get out
of here now that includes you and I can
help you with that I get caught I’ll
take my chances it’s like you said they
might not even believe me number eight
John Blake The Dark Knight Rises what’s
your name son
Blake sir this role marked Gordon
Levitt’s introduction into the world of
superhero movies and I spotted you I was
looking for a friend
Bruce Wayne in this installment of
Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy
Gotham City detective John Blake becomes
Bruce Wayne’s Ally and the two bond over
their tormented childhoods as orphans
after Batman’s presumed death he quits
the police department and inherits the
Batcave
you were right and I can’t take it
injustice
no one’s ever gonna know who saved an
entire city the movies ambiguous ending
leaves many questions concerning Blake’s
future and Bruce Wayne’s fate you should
use your full name I like that name
Robin as the quiet and heroic young cop
gordon-levitt Stern inspired fan
theories about a possible sequel
starring his character and frankly we
wouldn’t mind that at all I figured it
out too late you gotta learn to hide the
anger practice smiling in a mirror it’s
like putting on a mask number seven
Tommy Solomon third Rock from the Sun
I’m in command yeah well I’m in puberty
pal
remember the long-haired T V kid that
was always smarter than the adults
around him our first mainstream
introduction to gordon-levitt
was through this hilarious 96 um in
which a group of aliens comes to earth
and lives as a family in order to know
humans better why are you talking to me
like I’m a child you are a child I’m
older than you
well now I’m bigger on this planet size
matters Tommy Solomon is a kid in the
show but back on his home planet he is
something of a wise old man Tommy have I
upset you no he’s trying to look down
your blouse what question what his major
running gag is that he is the least sexy
of his family and resembles a girl
because of his Hanson brothers like
haircut gordon-levitt played the
information officer going through the
horny teenage years to a tee and for
that he’s still our favorite character
from the show you’re on the volleyball
team arch yeah I am I watched you jump
up and down this afternoon
you’re really good thanks we won Oh
what’s a game number six Jon Martell Oh
Don Jon yeah not gonna lie this sound
gets me hard as a Kim Brock if you
identify with this character we thank
you for taking the time to check out
this top-10 among Jon’s favorite things
are his family his church his boys his
girls and his porn
say anything I don’t got to do anything
I just and lose myself the film was
written and directed by Gordon Levitt
himself and tells the precautionary tale
of what happens when you watch too much
porn well nah my friends the boyfriends
are watching porno on internet all the
time just kidding it’s about the
stereotypes men and women apply to each
other and as such John learns that maybe
his favorite things are not enough to
make him happy
first of all everybody watches porn okay
all guys any guy tells you he doesn’t
watch points I’m so foolish second of
all wha polish the romantic comedy-drama
thus proved to audiences that
gordon-levitt wasn’t only a skilled
actor but also a talented writer and
director I’m gonna pick one yeah yeah I
gotta go Jack huh
number five Brendan Fry brick in this
neo noir thriller gordon-levitt plays
high school kid Brendan
who’s broken up with his girlfriend
Spencer guy two months and whose best
friend has been betrayed to the
authorities what’d she whisper to you
she called me a dirty word one morning
he finds a note that leads him to a
payphone when the pay phone starts
ringing he finds out it’s his
ex-girlfriend calling him and trying to
give him clues to her whereabouts last
week at the payphone Del Rio and
sarmento so she saw something she was
scared of tugs car driving by the pin
riding shotgun alarmed that she might be
in danger
Brendon follows her clues only to
discover her dead body yeah I did that’s
all you saw what about before for what
where I got there did you see who killed
her you killed her it’s a bit difficult
to explain so you need to see it to
really get it but at least you’ve got
gordon-levitt to help carry the story
along you trust me no number four
Arthur inception the hell was all that I
have it under control
I’d hate to see out of control our next
entry remains one of the most
mind-bending movies of this millennium
and as we can see in this top-10
Joseph gordon-levitt really likes to
make us think and I will lead them on a
merry chase marking his first
collaboration with director Christopher
Nolan before The Dark Knight Rises the
actor portrays mastermind researcher
Arthur three layers now dreams are gonna
collapse the slightest disturbance
playing opposite Leo DiCaprio scoff
Arthur is his right-hand man the guy
that has to ensure all the details of
their inception crimes my work right
we need to do a little better might know
thank you for your contribution out
there forgive me for wanting a little
specificity as the point man he’s an
essential part of the team so a totem
you need a small object potentially
heavy something you can have on you all
the time that no one else make a point
no and lucky for gordon-levitt the
character also gets to be the star of
one of the most fascinating action
sequences ever
number three young Joe looper tremendous
out we hope your head isn’t spinning yet
because this next role just might blow
your mind
in this sci-fi thriller gordon-levitt
plays a looper called Joe but he also
plays a young Bruce Willis so why don’t
you do it
old men too and die get on my wife she
just took your little gun over between
your legs and do it set in a world in
which time-travel was invented in 2070
for Joe’s job is to kill victims that
are sent back in time from the future
unfortunately one day the victim he has
to kill is himself only older the actor
wore special makeup to make him look
like a younger version of Willis so he
had to melt seamlessly not only into his
character but into the skin of one of
Hollywood’s most beloved action stars
you go kill the boy that are you fix it
you’re goddamn right I’m gonna kill that
boy number two
Adam Lerner fifty-fifty I don’t wanna
yep we think it’s time to give our
brains a break this next performance
will pull at your heartstrings rather
than your brain wrinkles I have cancer
what do you mean you have cancer I have
cancer I what do you want to say
inspired by a true story the film
centers on Adam who has recently been
diagnosed with a rare form of cancer
what’s it called Shh well no mom I knew
this one knows when OMA
is Sean no moment to add to this trauma
his girlfriend dumps him shortly after
the diagnosis the bus after chemo yeah
well usually uh Rachel drives me
we broke up she kind of cheated on me
aided by his best friend and his
inexperienced therapist Adam tries to
get through his ailment in this new life
situation
took the part off anyone thanks to his
heartfelt and emotional performance
gordon-levitt received his second Golden
Globe nomination for the role so I think
I’m starting to realize I’m probably
gonna die
something happened no it’s just yeah
look at me I wake up and I look in the
mirror and like it’s pretty obvious you
know before we unveil our top pick here
are some honorable mentions if you want
a poker there’s nothing wrong with that
don’t be ashamed human beings have been
poking vagina for hundreds of years
longer problem
you drafted half the man in Boston what
do you think their families think about
me the only reason they don’t throw
things and spit on me cuz you’re so
popular look what the guy didn’t mean
are those bruises not on my dick like in
candy cane I didn’t realize he was
hurting until after I’m doing all that I
like to ride
fixed-gear steel frame no brakes the
bike cannot coast the pedals never stop
turning can’t stop don’t want to either
number one
Tom Hanson 500 days of summer this is
exactly what I’m talking about what does
that even mean love this next movie and
our top JGL performance melted our
hearts impression with Gordon Levitt at
his most vulnerable the romantic comedy
drama is a series of flashbacks of a
relationship after we’ve been informed
it’s ended Tom don’t go you’re still my
best friend piecing together Tom’s
relationship with the titular summer we
look for the cracks even when we’re
witnessing the good episodes of their
time as a couple so that was fun
gordon-levitt received his first ever
Golden Globe nomination for his turn as
Tom and the film has since earned the
status as a classic boy meets girl story
but you should also know this is not a
love story I never wanted to be
anybody’s girlfriend and I somebody’s
wife surprised me table this is a story
about love
thanks to Gordon Levitt’s charm
vulnerability and his ability to make us
relate to his character this story about
love is one we won’t soon forget sorry
I’m sorry yeah
I quit I’m it’s enough pulse in the
world without my help do you agree with
