some people have all the staying power
wins welcome to watchmojo.com and today
we’ll be counting down our picks for the
top 10 immortal videogame characters i
am the lost pillar the only survivor of
the suckle of 9 for this list we’re
taking a look at the characters who best
encapsulate the time-honored tradition
of eternal life whether they’re
long-lived warriors sheltered loners or
lovable oddballs we found a place for
them here as usual one character for
franchise and we’re specifically
focusing on the long life aspect rather
than invulnerability all right
chute number 10 gravemind
halo series what is that we knew
something felt off about this thing this
massive tentacled creature acts as the
intelligent overseer of the parasitic
flood boasting omniscience and the power
to control all that it sees however the
scariest part about the grave mind might
be its lifespan it’s said to have lived
at least 100,000 years sporting the
ability to transfer its consciousness to
a new body when in danger so in that
case this malevolent beast is
technically unstoppable and we thought
the flood themselves were terrifying
enough they taught us meet as goals
but this ring will make us brother
number nine vamp Metal Gear Solid series
good you’ll be the one to finally finish
me equal parts creepy and impressive
this monster has quite the gift as part
of the rogue special operations unit
dead cell it would be fair to assume
that vamp brings something unique to the
table that something turns out to be
superhuman speed and reflexes mastery of
knives and resistance to fatal injury as
the ongoing storyline progresses it’s
revealed that vamp has nanomachines in
his bloodstream that boost his healing
capabilities he’s got to be immortal no
he’s not immortal at all it was my
design that caused his body to be like
that huh this knowledge doesn’t prevent
the loss of innocent lives at vamps hand
or his narrow escape from death number 8
Cain Legacy of Kain series
cost him in now for a real vampire meet
Kane a nobleman killed by assassins and
brought back thanks to a curse his
dilemma
besides seeking vengeance against his
killers comes down to one question would
he sacrifice eternal life to save
humanity as a man I could never have
contained such forbidden truths but each
of us is so much more than we once were
as the series progresses Kane finds his
answer by conquering the realm and using
his vampiric powers to rule over all
once I embraced my powers I realized
that Florida was correct
we are gods still given that his enemies
are malevolent gods and beings even
cooler than him Cain’s not all that bad
for an undead tyrant I serve no one
number seven the nameless one Planescape
torment
throw the dice and see where they land
in Planescape torment a game based on
dungeons dragons you take on the role of
the nameless one a once human warrior
who was made immortal long ago however
there’s a catch he can still die but
resurrect soon afterwards at the cost of
his current personality his memory and
an innocent life that’s been sacrificed
in place of his own based on player
choice
the nameless one can be a wise
philosopher a cunning strategist or an
intimidating brute yeah no matter what
he’s always curious about his own
circumstance hey chief you okay you
playing corpse you putting the blinds on
the dusties I thought you were a debtor
for sure
number six Ganondorf The Legend of Zelda
series a constant fixture of the
franchise and an unceasing thorn in the
hero’s side back in the original game
this evil wizard and occasional giant
pig acted as the hero Link’s
arch-nemesis from then on Ganon has
endured mortal injury after mortal
injury only to return and deliver
retribution
the source of ganondorf’s immortality is
often disputed some say that it’s
because of his mastery of magic while
others claim that possessing the
Triforce of power grants him reprieve
from death regardless it’s safe to say
that Ganon can stand the test of time
number 5 Vincent Valentine Final Fantasy
7
eternal life comes at a cost for some
for Vincent Valentine a Turk in the
wrong place at the wrong time
this defines much his existence while
arguing for the life of Lucretia a woman
he loved
Vincent was mortally wounded however the
young man was put through experiments
that left him immortal and superhuman
but also severely violated rumors of the
Shinra company conducting human
experiments are true then this may be
where those nefarious deeds were carried
out from that point onward Vincent’s
motivation is vengeance even after 30
years and a long slumber he’s driven to
punish the perpetrator of his suffering
and honestly we can’t really blame him
yuffie rendezvous with a cloud and the
others it looks like I still have some
work to do
number four Shang Tsung Mortal Kombat
series UK he had been used it’s an earth
realm Wario has progressed this far but
the reigning champion is far beyond your
ability
it seems that sorcery powers do have
their benefits at least we think that’s
the case with Shang Tsung the magically
inclined right-hand man to the
villainous Overlord Shao Kahn rules that
cannot be broken my lord children
what once if the rules were changed
besides overseeing the titular Mortal
Kombat tournament and maintaining a
decadent persona Shang Tsung is keen on
staying young which he ensures by
absorbing the souls of his foes on top
of immortality
this also means the sorcerer can use his
enemy’s abilities and even their
appearance by a shape-shifting number
three Kate
command & Conquer series can’t kills
inside you really can’t introduced in
1995’s command & Conquer as the leader
of the Brotherhood of Nod Kaine has the
unique honour of being viewed as a holy
Savior and melts it for all it’s worth
and naught is but a shadow of what it
was but then that is how it should be
for only the chosen few will be allowed
into the Promised Land
yet his aloof nature hides a more
genuine survival instinct whether zapped
by an ion cannon or impaled by metallic
debris Kaine always comes back with a
vengeance the implication that he may be
the biblical Kain is not lost on us
there is much for us to learn my child
much for us to learn number 2 tallien
Middle Earth shadow of Mordor you are
banished
being banished from death seems both
awful and kind of incredible this former
Ranger of Gondor certainly understands
that after being resurrected in the wake
of his own execution
one make Stallions predicament
interesting is the circumstance he’s
bonded to the elven Wraith caliph rim
bore who grants him mystical powers and
allows him to revive in case of mortal
injury even when he is killed he just
comes right on back much to the chagrin
of the orcs who did the deed we can’t
say Italians ultimate trajectory is
benevolent in nature but it sure is
entertaining to see what he does with
his given powers taste tallien is not
the darkness sweet before we unveil our
top pick here are a few honorable
mentions the professor said his life’s
work was dedicated to all of those who
live down there he once told that the
reason for his existence was making
people happy through the power of
science shadow Maria I just don’t know
anything anymore they should be
interesting final battle fight
number one Alucard Castlevania series if
you master I regard what do you need as
the son of the famed Dracula Alucard has
quite the legacy to live up to
fortunately he’s got a trick up his
sleeve he has his father’s power of
eternal life Alucard the same Alucard
who fought alongside my ancestor
Trevor Belmont was over 300 years ago
Alucard began as a challenging foe for
the Belmont clan before revealing that
he shares their goal to kill Dracula and
liberate the world from evil
Dracula in the name of my mother I will
defeat you again driven by his mother’s
love of humanity
Alucard uses his gifts not to oppress
but to aid the innocent despite his
heritage there’s no doubt that Alucard
has the makings of an eternal hero so
what now Alucard the blood in my veins
is cursed
it’s best for the world if I disappear
now and forever do you agree with our
