the only thing better than robots are
giant robots
welcome to watchmojo.com and today we’re
counting down the top 10 giant robots
well robot know the luckiest kid in
America in this list we’re taking a look
at giant robots from both film and
television and we’re not discriminating
between those that have human drivers
and minds of their own number 10
the jaegers Pacific Rim these massive
battle bots were built with one goal in
mind saving the world
built to combat our rampaging alien
species the Jaeger robots are controlled
by trained human pilots to fight
monsters we created monsters of our own
the Jaeger program was born a neural
link to the robots allows for seamless
mechanics which is important when you’re
fighting massive aliens on the attack
while these robots require two pilots it
just allows for two times the fun two
times the heroics and a hell of a lot of
synchronized punching sequences let’s
check for pulse no pulse number nine
Eddie 209 Robocop it gives me great
pleasure to introduce you to the future
of law enforcement ed 209 the ed 209 or
enforcement droid 209 was touted as the
future of law enforcement designed to
protect and serve the ed 209 suffered a
slight hiccup when it killed a guy at a
board meeting but nobody’s perfect
it was also formidable enough to stand
up to the new guy
battling Robocop hood eventually losing
the ed-209 can’t really be blamed
however nobody told him that stairs were
gonna be involved
number eight Megazord Mighty Morphin
Power Rangers
everyone knows that combining powers and
working together is the best way to
conquer your enemies that extends to
transforming into a massive robot as
well possibly the best thing to come out
of the Power Ranger series the Megazord
was a combo robot comprised of each
individual Rangers swords the Megazord
housed all of the Rangers in a cockpit
where they controlled its movements
leading to some interesting battles and
more than a few moments of unintended
comedy
number seven Ultron
similar to the Megazord Voltron is a
robot made up of individual smaller
robots controlled by even smaller humans
however Voltron has been tasked with
saving the entire galaxy
The Legend of Voltron defender of the
universe a mighty robot teams of humans
alternate piloting Voltron whose massive
size when combined would be comparable
to an aircraft carrier with such a huge
robot to navigate and a nuclear reactor
as its power source
some intense training might be in order
number six
Mechagodzilla Godzilla series
at a time when aliens see hell bent on
conquering earth it would only seem
reasonable that extraterrestrials would
build a mechanical counterpart with a
giant lizard
developed by Santa Elliot’s to destroy
Earth’s massive protector Mechagodzilla
was formed of indestructible space
titanium regardless the giant robotic
lizard was soon defeated warning the
alien invasion
until next time number five sentinels
the x-men series in the comic universe
sentinels are enormous humanoid robots
designed for one purpose
hunting mutants
a massive sentinel robot simulation
makes an appearance during a training
sequence in The Last Stand but it is
quickly ended by Wolverines quick
thinking and a limited budget class
dismissed
equipped with mutant restraints and
other tactical goodies we can hope to
see a lot more of these villainous bad
guys in future x-men films number 4 ATAC
Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back
the 8080 or all-terrain armored
transport is pretty iconic and for good
reason
vaguely resembling giant mechanical
elephants the 80 80s were a huge
destructive force for the evil Galactic
Empire in their war against the rebels
they’re near indestructible armor made
them almost impervious to assault
although they were far from invaluable
their long legs made them prone to trips
and Falls as evidenced by their defeat
at the Battle of Hoth
and that’s why tanks have tracks by the
way
number three Court The Day the Earth
Stood Still
as explained in the film Court is
essentially a cop sent to keep peace on
earth not too many cops have the
singular ability to destroy entire
planets so that’s probably something we
should mention
in addition to being gigantic this is
also a robot a few words
despite being humanoid in construction
with the ability to shoot lasers from
its face court may have a goofy name but
it’s a powerful killing machine
number two Iron Giant The Iron Giant
seriously who knew that a mammoth sized
robot voiced by Vin Diesel could bring
us to the brink of Tears despite our
best efforts we were moved by the
relationship forged between a young boy
and a giant robot from outer space while
this metallic behemoth is equipped with
an arsenal formidable enough to demolish
an army it eventually learns the
important lesson that it is not our
intended purpose but our choices that
define us and you don’t have to be a gun
you are what you choose to be you choose
choose
our heartstrings are further demolished
as it sacrifices itself to save a town
before we unveil our top pick here are a
few honorable mentions
Wow
number one Optimus Prime transformer
series my name is Optimus Prime
there’s an entire species of sentient
alien robots to pick from but Optimus
Prime stands apart from the bunch
as a head of a ragtag bunch of good guy
robots called the Autobots Optimus Prime
possesses all of the virtues that we’ve
come to expect from our human heroes
nonetheless of which our selflessness
and bravery we will kill them all it
doesn’t hurt that he can also transform
from truck to robot whenever he needs to
throw it down
you agree with our list what’s your
favorite giant robot for more
