Top 10 Games That Aren’t As Good As You Remember Them

sometimes nostalgia gets the better of
us now where did you get this my
decomposing friend welcome to
watchmojo.com and today we’re counting
down our picks for the top 10 video
games that are not as good as you
remember them
before we begin we publish new videos
every day so be sure to subscribe for
more great content for this list we’re
looking at video games that are not bad
by any stretch of the imagination but
might not be as perfect as we remember
them take off the Rose tinted glasses
take a deep breath then we can get
through this number 10 Grand Theft Auto
3
Liberty City a place where violence sex
and corruption reigns and how we love it
with endless amounts of hours to be
poured into exploring its various
islands there’s plenty to enjoy here
however since this was the first in the
series to transition into a 3d
open-world the game was definitely
limited by the technology of the time
the graphics are pretty bland especially
compared to Vice City and San Andreas
Mission keep trained restraints on the
player traffic and pedestrians are very
light plus the choice of having a silent
protagonist certainly hinders the
narrative ultimately gta3 is more of a
victim up to times
considering how many better open-world
titles including later GTA titles were
released over the years all right I
ain’t your homey I’m someone you want to
impress number nine EverQuest
it was the second MMORPG to ever be
released and it brought with it a
juggernaut of a three-dimensional game
engine in any surprise that fantasy fans
adored it it was truly the spark that
led to an almost over saturation of the
genre and while the extensive class
system and numerous expansions certainly
allowed EverQuest to stay afloat
it eventually clashed with the likes of
World of Warcraft which as you all well
know reached new heights that very few
games have been able to match will
always be thankful for this title but
compared to MMOs that were released in
the new millennium
many of EverQuest design choices seem
almost baffling by today’s standards
number eight – Raider she’s become one
of videogames most badass female icons
and to this day has proved that her
adventure still have a place in modern
gaming it’s just a shame that her first
adventure can’t be considered her best
with camera and control issues as well
as some really strange puzzle solving
sections it would take various reboots
to eventually strike up the bounce
between Lara’s knack for treasure
hunting as well as her gunplay this one
definitely need a bit of fine-tuning
luckily for us Lara would come back with
a storm of a sequel number 7 pokemon red
blue and yellow
[Music]
many of us have fond memories of
choosing our first Pokemon and using it
at the foundation to build our fighting
teams to become the ultimate pokemon
master while red and blue had a major
cultural impact compared to later titles
in the series it’s really rough first of
all the majority of the pokemons
pictures in the game don’t resemble how
they look in the anime or any
promotional material psychic pokémon
are pretty freakin overpowered due to
the lack of strong bug Pokemon to
counter them and the games are prone to
many bugs and exploits our advice is if
you want this dose of nostalgia play the
remix firered and leafgreen number six
Double Dragon a classic of the arcades
that spawned so many sequels tie-ins and
adaptations that it’s hard to keep track
as the Lee brothers
it’s up to you to take down wave after
wave of enemies in order to save your
romantic interest from harm beat up the
bad guys and get the girl it sounds
simple right however it’s due to that
simplicity that the dragon splendour
starts to dim a little
[Music]
beat him ups multiplayer games and indie
titles have evolved in such a way that
gamers these days like something with a
little more substance even from a simple
genre like this just look at what
happened to Double Dragon for talk about
a flop number 5 Battletoads battling
your way through sewers and across the
cosmos the antics of these macho mutated
reptiles was nothing short of a good old
dam after all how can you not have fun
while transforming yourself into a
wrecking ball and taking on a
leather-bound antagonist well if there’s
one thing that’s going to Center the
experience it would be the difficulty
the original port was infamous to the
point of being almost unbeatable
especially when it came to those driving
sections if you’re a die-hard fan of the
toads then you probably still get a lot
of enjoyment out of it but be prepared
to have your patients tested number 4
Mass Effect as the game that started a
sci-fi behemoth Mass Effect is
remembered for its branching narrative
memorable characters and RPG character
building not to mention the numerous
epic moments that made us feel like a
badass what fans prefer not to remember
is the gameplay the combat in particular
is very clunky with a problematic cover
system and weapons that lack any punch
is there anything you’d like to say
about it many details are still
classified I’m afraid however there is
one name that fans do remember for all
the wrong reasons
some Mako not only does this vehicle has
some of the worst handling and deeming
but the worlds you use it on get
repetitive really quick thank God for
Mass Effect 2
number three uncharted drake’s fortune
beautiful son of a bitch in the same
vein as Mass Effect if you happen to
think back on Nathan Drake’s most badass
misadventures then chances are your mind
will jump to the events of uncharted 2
and 4 however compared to the later
titles in the series the story and the
characters of the first Uncharted game
come off very cheesy remember when Nate
thought Sully got killed right in front
of him that barely phases him as he’s
more excited too mortified what are we
waiting for
I’ll get the story and you get whatever
it is you’re after or how about Nate’s
explanation of how an old u-boat ends up
on top of a waterfall to come up the
river during flood seasons got stuck
okay oh yeah that makes no goddamn sense
let’s also not forget the QuickTime
event final battles that ended in Looney
Tunes fashion
number two Star Wars Battlefront – hey
hey hey stop right there don’t flip out
don’t flip out take a deep breath we can
do this the battlefront legacy certainly
has had its ups and downs on the one
hand this sent to Cepeda sequel doesn’t
have the jaw-dropping graphics of its
successor but it does have a well
thought-out narrative from the
perspective of a fair in stormtrooper it
improved upon a few aspects from the
first battlefront such as enemy AI but
in other places it just seems like it
was just copy and pasting sections of
what may be original game a hit rather
than stand out on its own for those that
felt betrayed by 2015’s battlefront
you’re sure to find some solace in
replaying this particular installment
just as long as you’ll remember that it
didn’t age very well number one Sonic
Adventure all right considering the
travesty that is modern Sonic games
you’ll be forgiven for seeing this
golden oldie as one of the blue blurs
better outings that is of course until
you get around to playing it again and
while it does have a sort of cheesy
charm to it it has several notable
faults the controls can be atrocious at
times the voice acting can range from
hysterical to agonizing and lest we
forget that this is the game that
dedicated an entire gameplay section to
big the cat who spends all of his levels
fishing for a frog
it’s still miles ahead of something like
Sonico six but that doesn’t mean it
won’t send some players into volatile
Firenze views do you agree with our
picks check out these other great clips
