comic and TV series of The Walking Dead
before we begin we publish new videos

more great content while the Walking
Dead TV show follows the same general
progression of the comics certain
deviations continually surprise viewers
good character roles are changed some
deaths that occur in the comics don’t
happen in the show and vice-versa as
well as the addition or omission of
certain characters all together we’ll be
taking a look at all the comic issues to
date as well as all of the episodes so
there will be spoilers throughout this
whole video you’ve been one thank you
you did everything good
it’s day number 10 the CDC ending of
season 1 why are you here what do you
want Jan that’s asking an awful lot
these days the first season of the show
ends with the group paying a visit to a
Center for Disease Control and
Prevention laboratory in the hopes of
finding a cure dr. Jenner proceeds to
tell them that there is no cure and then
it’s better to die close to one another
in a controlled blast rather than out
there ravaged by zombies which most of
the group is totally not okay with and
leave the facility before the subsequent
explosion before his death Jenner is the
one who informs Rick that everyone is
infected no matter how you die you will
always emerge as a walker there’s your
chance take it grateful the day will
come when you want number nine
Sophia’s fate
[Music]
the bulk of season two of the show
what’s that on her shal farm and from a
storytelling point of view one of the
primary reasons was that the group had
to look for Sophia in a heartbreaking
midseason finale her fate is revealed
having been turned into a walker from
subsequently shot surprisingly in the
comics she doesn’t die at all she forms
a bond with Maggie and Glenn and becomes
their adopted daughter after her
mother’s death she and Carl are
particularly close also currently she
lives at the hilltop number 8 Tyrese is
gues arguably one of the saddest deaths
in the entire series Tyrese fights for
the will to live after his arm is
chopped off line is shown to stop the
spread of infection via Walker bite
hallucinating
he sees other deceased characters trying
to tell him it’s okay to give in and he
dies of blood loss it highlights the
fact that no matter how strong or
attentive one can be you should
definitely never let your guard down
interestingly in the comics he has a
desk that mimics Herschel’s from the
show where the governor slowly and
terrifically beheads him using the shown
katana liar number seven Laurie’s death
another entry with a drastic variant
between the TV series in the comics or
exactly significantly different between
the two mediums her death in the show
was definitely sad dying during
childbirth with her son shooting her in
the head before reanimation no more kids
stuff people are going to die in the
comics she has baby Judith with no real
complications and recedes to be an
extremely protective mother to her as
one would a doubtedly be during hey
zombie apocalypse unfortunately while
escaping the governor’s invasion she and
Judith are shot down by one of the
governor’s soldiers killing them both
number six personal farm we don’t
normally take in strangers I can’t have
you people thinking this is permanent we
touched on this briefly earlier but to a
lot of viewers annoyance season two of
the show spent a lot of time on
Hershel’s farm and buy a lot of time we
mean pretty much the entire season while
it did allow for some significant
character development a lot of the
action dwindled things transpire a
little differently on the farm when Rick
and company stay there in the comics
Hershel vine clan and Maggie in bed
together and then takes group out only
after staying there a short while soon
after they find the prison as seen in
the third season of the show
number five rick and michonne instead of
rick and andrea one coming about your
day if you’re caught up with the show
you know that Ricky Michonne are now in
a romantic relationship together and so
far it’s going pretty well considering
their individual strengths compliment
one another but in the comics Rick heart
belongs to another
nope not Lori’s after Lori’s death
Andrea who is still alive in the comics
and is in fact a master sharpshooter
steals Rick’s heart and moved in with
him and while they sometimes comment
odds in regards to Rick’s leadership
they generally have a loving and warm
relationship especially because you know
Andrea still alive number four Abraham’s
death Oh much to viewer surprised
Abraham suffered the same fate his plan
in the show season 7 premiere working as
a bait and switch to make audiences
think that Glenn was safe anyone
familiar with the comics would have
recognized that Denise’s death in the
show
Mannix Abraham’s supposed death in the
comics Abraham is shot through the back
of the head banged white with an arrow
in the middle of a speech but he manages
to finish what he was saying before
collapsing as was the same with disease
and if you don’t wait
and Thank You number three
Carol shrank Carol strengthen the show
is a result of the hardship she went
through in particular the death of her
daughter Sophia she quickly adapted to
the new world doing whatever it took to
survive and protect the group the comic
book version of Carol on the other hand
remained the meek and dependent woman
theme at the beginning of the show come
on no Carol you don’t have heroine you
don’t tell me what she never develops
into the zombie and human killing expert
interestingly she tries to involve
herself in a three-person sexual
relationship with Rick and Lorie and
after facing rejection allows herself to
be bitten by a walker it’s kind of hard
to picture such a drastic change in the
character but it’s a testament to the
writers of both mediums number cute
Rick’s hand
Rick’s hand gets chopped off by the
governor in the comics yep you heard us
he loses his hand quite early in the
series which changes the whole dynamic
of Rick’s character fans have been
wondering when this incident would occur
in the show and after a few close calls
Rick still has his hand in the season 7
premiere Rick is almost forced by negan
to cut off his son Karl’s arm and pleads
for it to be his own arm instead thank
you before we get to our top pick here a
couple of honorable mention
[Music]
nice now just not now number one the
existence of Daryl Dixon it’s
interesting to see how much of a fan
favorite Daryl has become especially
since to character along with Beth and
Merle were created specifically for the
show starting as a rather annoying and
troublesome character in season 1 Daryl
has grown tremendously as both a person
had capable warrior often acting his
rick’s right-hand man wielding his
iconic crossbow takes the lead in a lot
of violent situation with every
impending death on the show we pray that
it isn’t Daryl’s turn fans often claim
that if you dies they will riot and no
one wants either of those things to
happen you will need for how things I
know sister I understand all Glee
growing up in a place like this do you
agree with our picks check out these
