Top 10 Cities We Would Love to See Parodied in Grand Theft Auto

rock stars talent in creating open world
smorgasbords by parodying real world
cities is unparalleled and for their
next effort we have our own wish list
welcome to watchmojo.com and today we’re
counting down our picks for the top 10
cities we’d love to see parodied in
Grand Theft Auto for this list we’re
looking at cities not yet used to
inspire fictional metropolis ‘as in the
Grand Theft Auto franchise and are
ranking them based on how well we feel
they would compliment GTA s signature
style we’ve excluded cities that have
already been portrayed in the 3d GTA
games so you won’t find New York LA San
Francisco Miami or Las Vegas here
number 10 Washington DC USA the capital
city of the United States is rife with
famous landmarks and monuments we’d love
to see explored in the next GTA anyone
up for a stealth mission at the
Smithsonian also since the city is so
close to Baltimore the game would
certainly not be lacking the major urban
city feel as well exploration and
gunplay are just half of what makes GTA
great the series satire of American
culture works perfectly within its
narratives and DC would be the perfect
setting to parody American politics and
corruption plus it’d just be cool if one
of those politicians you meet is an
homage to Frank Underwood from house of
cards
number 9 Montreal Quebec Canada all
right we know we’re gonna get the
backhanded slap of bias for this one
since WatchMojo is based in Montreal but
here is OH Montreal’s diversity would
lend itself wonderfully to any open
world exploration game particularly
Grand Theft Auto being able to go from
the classic architecture of the old city
to a downtown metropolis in minutes
could make for a beautiful open-world
city also with parts of the Canadian
wilderness to explore on the outskirts a
GTA for a to the great white north could
be something special
still if your hometown doesn’t make the
list just imagine it made the number 9
slot and everyone’s happy right right
number eight Amsterdam the Netherlands
we’d want to visit GTA’s version of this
classic European City for many of the
same reasons we want to visit it in real
life for one thing it’s freaking
beautiful rock star has shown its
mastery of American cities but by
including classic European architecture
along the city’s natural and man-made
beauty the studio could create a wholly
unique experience unlike any other
imagine going from a canal boat chase to
the infamous red-light district to let
the mayhem erupt number 7 Dubai the
United Arab Emirates rock star can
develop an intricate metropolis with the
best of them but this middle-eastern
city would be on a whole other level
sprawling and diverse Dubai would not
only provide the perfect opportunity to
satirize exorbitant wealth but also to
create a massive landscape where you can
drive across large artificial islands
skydive off the Burj Khalifa have
gunfights and underwater hotels and even
fly over the massive cityscape to take
it all in sign us up for that number 6
London England London London London
London yes London you know fish chips
couple T bad food worse weather Mary
Poppins London while this city was
featured in an expansion pack for the
very first GTA game let’s be honest
top down cities are not memorable the
capital city of England and the United
Kingdom as more than earned its place in
pop culture and would likely be an
excellent addition to GTA’s open world
mayhem just think of the fabulous heists
underground fighting and car chases
through narrow streets also in the same
way GTA 5 borrowed a few set pieces from
movie set in LA London has plenty to
inspire a parody City just take some of
Guy Ritchie’s works for example anything
to declare yeah don’t go to England
number 5 New Orleans Louisiana USA GTA 5
s Southern California inspired desert
proved that diverse and intricate
environments could be part of the GTA
world and this unique American city
could add to that legacy being able to
travel through the bright lights of
Mardi Gras to the Louisiana bayou my
just be something GTA players are into
if you really like the idea mafia 3 will
take place in this setting but we still
kind of want to see rockstars take on it
number 4 Honolulu Hawaii USA with open
world maps continuously getting bigger
and bigger there’s no reason why the
capital city of America’s 50th state
couldn’t fit into the GTA universe or
even better why not the whole state
beautiful women sunny environment lots
of different vehicles
it’s basically perfect and when you get
tired of the ocean and beaches you can
climb an extinct volcano like Diamond
Head wouldn’t it be fantastic to hop
from island to island instead of just
boating off into the ocean for an hour
like a moron or worse trying to swim it
and getting eaten by a shark number
three Rio de Janeiro Brazil rockstar
already experimented with the Brazilian
underworld when they created South Paulo
for Max Payne 3 so bringing Rio to life
in an open world setting with rock stars
signature GTA touch would mean the
opportunity to explore such dynamic
environments as Rio sandy beaches and
the well known favela the city’s locale
and environment is nothing to scoff at
either with mountain ranges famous
landmarks and the entire ocean nearby
exploring could be a nearly endless
experience number 2 Tokyo Japan this
city of neon and mayhem might just be
perfect for a GTA game the city’s
brilliant stylization would enable
rockstar to step outside the United
States in spectacular fashion with the
variety between the cities hyper
modernity and classic religious
structures and architecture players
could have a limitless environment to
explore and when it comes to street
racing you know you just can’t beat
Tokyo before we reveal our number one
pick here are some honorable mentions
number one Tijuana Baja California
Mexico and San Diego California USA
rockstar has proved time and time again
that they can handle large world’s
psyching us up for the scope of their
next map that’s why we want a city
parodying the San Diego Tijuana
metropolitan area GTA 5 s Trevor spoke
ad nauseam about a smuggling ring but we
only caught a glimpse of it by providing
a huge open world environment some slick
cartel warfare and challenging missions
crossing the most heavily guarded
section of the border between the u.s.
and Mexico Rockstar could create a
modern day homage to its own Red Dead
Redemption and perfect the Grand Theft
Auto formula do you agree with our list
what cities would you like to see
parodied in the next Grand Theft Auto
