every continuity mistake ever made on
television number 10 the return and
jailbreak guys did you see that thing in
the sky it’s a ship we have to assume
it’s peridot the entire second half of
season 1 had been building towards this
two-parter and it delivered with the
threat of an oncoming peridot the
citizens of Beach City are evacuated
even included but he can’t leave his
family behind I have to go back three
homeworld gems peridot Jasper and the
captive lapis lazuli arrived looking for
the crystal gem but they’re taken aboard
a warship headed for homeworld leaving
it up to Stephen to break them all out
this episode not only confirms what fans
had theorized before the two-parter
aired that garnet is a fusion but also
features garnet and Jasper going toe to
toe while garnet sings a catchy tune
about how strong she really is go ahead
try get me to age
disable I know you think on the time you
okay in the end when lapis and Jasper
fuse it seems like the story is just
beginning
number nine Lian three straight-to-video
I guess you could say this cookie is out
of this world huh lions usually a pretty
independent cat but all of a sudden he
starts acting a little clingy and trying
to lie on Stephens face and we thought
pearl was bad of course even can’t stay
mad at his pink feline friend especially
when he finds out a little secret about
lion but he has a world hidden in his
Mane sorry I couldn’t resist while
exploring even finds a videotape with a
heartwarming message from his mother
rose quartz from before he was even born
every moment you love being yourself
that’s me loving you and loving being
you even never got to know his mom but
through this video he comes to
understand that she is a part of him
unlike many more OneNote cartoons even
universe tackles some pretty heavy
subject matter gracefully hey Sadie come
on we got open up
number eight on the run how is he going
to get out of this one
oh that Chow amethyst is usually the
fun-loving mischievous little quartz
with a bottomless stomach but she’s not
without her vulnerable side after
reading one of his favorite books Steven
and amethyst decide to try out life on
the road so it doesn’t go according to
plan
along the way amethyst show Stephen
where she was made the kindergarten a
creepy desolate wasteland that once grew
other gems for homeworld the gems aren’t
proud of what homeworld did and amethyst
is left in a deep pit of self-loathing
she’s frustrated over her home and feels
like she’s just a mistake you’re not the
mistake
you’re just a byproduct of a big mistake
however despite all the tension that
horrible place have built the others
decide they wouldn’t give amethyst up
for anything yep sometimes this show can
get serious you’re the one good thing
that came out of this mess I always
thought you were proud of that number
seven chili teed now before we get to
slumber party started
would either of you care for a slumber
companion after lapis and Jasper’s
shocking fusion at the end of season one
the gems try to find the unstable
malachite however the search is put on
hold because Steven needs sleep don’t
you guys need rest too you look
exhausted
we look awesome sohey amethyst and pearl
have a sleepover for some chili teed
which is Norwegian for chilling time a
fun look inside Stephens dream and a
hilarious peek at pearl quickly turns
into eerie nightmares about lapis Steven
even starts talking to her
telepathically our little half gems trip
inside malachite head shows us the
stress lapis is under to keep Jasper
under control and the dark turns this
show can take KC I can’t talk not very
thick it’s amazing how quickly a night
of relaxing can turn into a stressful
one lapis oh it’s okay we’re here
number six future vision I guess you
say that has for future vision one of
the best things about Stephen is that he
is always being taught something new
about life and about being a gem even
learns about garnets future vision which
allows her to see possible outcomes men
not all of them end well for a certain
half gem suddenly you hope to get this
new information causes even to panic at
every turn as he imagines every single
bad outcome that could happen to him
telling him about her powers was a risky
move on garnets end even though she just
wanted for them to be closer she tries
to teach him a valuable lesson that the
future is uncertain but that only he can
control what happened you choose your
own future will admit garnets sometimes
hard to understand but we do know that
she only wants what’s best for her
Stephen what was that
oh nothing funky number five sworn to
the sword I can make it different
excellent ever since their awkward first
meeting evenin Connie have been the
closest of friends
gem buds you might say lately Connie
wants to get more involved in Stephens
life so she decides to take up
swordsmanship with a little convincing
pearl is eager to train Connie to be a
knight for Stephen unfortunately pearl
has a strong devotion to her
swordsmanship and takes teaching Connie
too far season is what matters you don’t
matter even can’t stand the idea of
Connie getting hurt over him
especially when they could be working as
a team in battle won’t you share this
jam with me their combined fighting
style proved to be extremely impressive
with Connie on the offense and Stephen
on the defense
she’s the strawberry and he’s a biscuit
and that makes us J buzz once after an
awkward confrontation pearl finally
understands how well they work together
can’t wait for the midair and underwater
dueling exercises it’s going to be
boodles of fun
number four alone together I’m a fusion
fusion is what literally brings gems
closer together but for a certain gem
human-hybrid fusion isn’t easy but don’t
worry that’s nothing a little time with
his jam bud Connie can’t fix they start
to dance like
no one’s watching when suddenly meet
Steven II wait oh this no yes
great as Connie and Steven face this new
milestone in their lives garnet only has
one piece of advice make sure you’re a
good experience now go have fun at first
being together as a fusion does seem
like fun
but after a while it starts to feel
lonely if we were together it would be
okay but we are together and it’s not
move the subject of fusion is an
intimate one on this show in this
episode features Steven and Connie at
their closest sharing feelings of
excitement and anxiety
not unlike teenagers feel as they grow
up thankfully they’re panicking won’t
last forever
number three We Need to Talk
you joke ensue after Steven and Connie
accidentally fused together
Greg shares part of his fantastic love
story with Rose with Steven II
specifically the details of how this
human being came to discover fusion back
when he was a rock star he saw Rose the
leader of a gem rebellion combined with
Pearl to become a rainbow court after a
little salty teasing from Pearl Greg
decided he wanted to be the first human
to fuse with Rose I will try Oh Greg and
roses chemistry is shown at its best
throughout this episode with roses
curiosity about humans Greg’s fear about
being good enough for his giant space
lady
and both of them trying to figure out
how love works even though they don’t
physically fuse they do succeed in
building a stronger connection this is
that a valuable lesson I think this
one’s my favorite I think he’s her
favorite too
number two mirror gem and ocean gem we
found this gem powered mirror at the
Galaxy warp summers come to Beach City
again and Steven’s going to spend it the
way any normal kid would with a magical
mirror that pearl gave him the mirror
starts communicating with our favorite
Hybrid which raises suspicions for the
gem their worries are confirmed when
even releases the gem trapped inside the
mirror lapis lazuli who tries to steal
the Earth’s ocean to build a tower to
the sky this two-parter is a game
changer as it teaches even that some
gems from homeworld aren’t so friendly
their encounter with lapis and smoothly
thanks to Steven no problem and the
ocean is returned but the threat of
homeworld only gets stronger from here
what does this mean for us we wait and
see before we reveal our top episode
here are some honorable mentions all I
want to do is help you turn into a giant
woman a giant
[Applause]
number one roses scabbard Oh gammy any
shoo-shoo pearls deep love for rose
quartz is obvious and she prides herself
on having been her strongest confidant
imagine her surprise when she finds out
that lion also knows a few roses secrets
including the location of her lost sword
here it is roses sword how did it get in
there Pearl’s entire world is turned
upside down feeling the sting of
betrayal at this episode’s emotional
climax we’re treated to one of the
deepest and most heartbreaking moments
of the entire series sometimes you even
sound like her a flashback to rose and
pearls time together
the shells just how committed to
Stephens mother pearl was in just over
11 minutes roses scabbard successfully
covers the heavy topic of dealing with a
loss of a loved one and shows us how
deep the relationship between two
cartoon characters can really go
everything I ever did I did for her
roses scabbard is a fantastic example of
what this series has to offer well I
think you’re pretty great do you agree
