looking at anime characters whose
childhood or early lives were marked by
some form of tragedy that influenced
their future we’re limiting the tragic
backstories here to one character per
franchise

being sacrificed which is the cell bring
back memories
number 10 masa V Angel Beats ha
Kyoko gonna end up in it mana so does
Shia in one way or another every
character an angel beats has a tragic
backstory cuz they’re all dead and
hanging out in limbo Massa me was the
child of parents who seemed to be
constantly fighting causing her to feel
severe anxiety of loneliness
so no Donati going on akka samhita
Jessica Madeleine Meenu sada Shiva no
karana tojiko Monica she found an outlet
when she began playing the guitar things
seem to be looking up until her father
hit her in the head with a beer bottle

and eventually led to her death
hopefully she’ll have better luck in the
afterlife yeah okay get chance and luck
number 9 trafalgar law one piece guan yu

share of tragic characters like the
twice orphaned Nami but trafalgar law
has passed takes the cake where
misfortune is concerned he was born in a
country being decimated by a terrible
disease which his beloved sister
contracted his parents were doctors who
were working to fight the illness
Raja Kiyosaki singing senators to veto a
toda Tita Sol who boasted a boy acid a
Kodomo sitter but unfortunately enemies
of his country attacked killing his
parents and Friends before his eyes and
destroying the hospital with his sister
inside Trafalgar survived but only by
hiding beneath the pile of rotting
corpses until they were conveyed out of
town that’s just nasty
great
yo Handley Bert monster have you
forgotten already doctor
about the twins
uh-huh yo Headley Bert is the monster of
the title and he is indeed horrific
while definitely not justifying his
actions johan’s horrible childhood
helped twist him into the man he became
he and his sister Ana were part of a
eugenics experiment which sought to
create a perfect individual and I was
further experimented on in traumatic
ways but yo hand comes to believe that
he was the real victim
much more ensues including the children
being adopted and Johanna shooting their
new parents he then orders Anna to shoot
him in the head which she does but
that’s still just the beginning of his
tale are you going to shoot me like you
did back then that’s right and that will
be the end to all of this the end what
exactly is the end number seven Lucy

her also causes her grief as a child she
befriended a stray puppy and came to
love it are you worried about me I’m

her of a plane crash that killed her
parents and made her afraid to get close
to anyone again for fear of being hurt
