what’s in the West it’s forbidden doomed
to live his life as a beast unless he
can find someone to love him the prince
spends his days sulking and basically
kidnapping lost travelers I just needed
a place to stay I’ll give you a place to
stay eventually the Beast and his
prisoners seemingly fall for each other
oh I knew it would work
what works but not before the town
meathead makes a mess of their romance
if I didn’t know better I think you had
feelings for this monster kids can get
their cutesy feelgood’s from the talking
household dinnerware and adults can
relate to the beasts cynicism and
chronic unhappiness she’s so beautiful
and well look at me plus the songs are
pretty catchy it’s fun for the whole
family

number nine wallace and gromit the curse
of the where rabbit
this stop-motion animated flick follows
The Adventures of a silly inventor named
Wallace and his significantly smarter
albeit silent dog named Gromit together
they run a pest control business in a
small village that’s preparing for a
vegetable competition my cuddle the
Sultanate oh one of Wallace’s inventions
goes awry causing him to transform into
a humongous where rabbit
whenever the full moon approaches what’s
cured of their country social veg
ravaging behavior the rabbits can be
safely released without fear of
reoffending this is doubly complicated
by the fact that Wallace and Gromit have
been tasked by the townspeople
with capturing the Beast before the
vegetable competition okay so we’ve
created a veg ravaging rabbit load stuff
but we also capture dick it’s a fun
claymation comedy that manages to be
both witty and light-hearted while
remaining delightfully British robbing
you amok well done old pal Oh number
eight the lego movie good morning
apartment
good morning doorway morning wall
morning ceiling good morning floor much
in the same way that Legos may have been
intended for kids but ended up being
obsessed over by adults this smash-hit
sort of took everyone by surprise relax
everybody I’m here Batman
the story occurs mainly in the Lego
universe and tells the story of Emmet a
hapless construction worker who
inadvertently winds up a hero hmm I
think I heard a whoosh he’s up against a
micromanaging villain who doesn’t really
approve of folks in the Lego universe

we’re trying to locate the fugitive but
his face is so generic it matches every

from beginning to end the film is

number seven up you know you know talk
very much I like you while the first 10
minutes are probably some of the most
poignant and gut-wrenchingly depressing
moments in animation history the film
makes up for it later with some lively
action it follows an elderly widower

wife’s lifelong wish we’re on our way

his plan involves attaching a crapload
of balloons to his house and steering it
to South America naturally a helpful but
annoying wilderness explorer has stowed
away in his house and needless to say it
complicates things a tad please let me

no although this computer animated flick
was definitely made for kids there’s
enough maturity in the film to keep the
adults engaged and that’s not just
because the protagonist is pushing 90 i
I found it on safari with Roosevelt he
and I fell into having a playing jinny
and evenings and did eat cheat number 6
How to Train Your Dragon 2 it’s a bit
much to get my head around to be frank
this sequel to the 2010 DreamWorks
original may have had the groundwork set
in the first film but it didn’t fail to
deliver on its own so what should we
name it itchy armpit it is following up
on The Adventures of hiccup and his
beloved dragon toothless the story is
set 5 years later and hiccup has made
the leap from boy to man not now dad I
got a whole day of goofing off to get
started ok first of all I I don’t sound
like that who what is this character
however the pair and their village are
up against a dangerous Conqueror who has
his own army of fearsome dragons men who
kill without reason cannot be reasoned
with
maybe pick up as fun as the dragons are
the film itself
deals with some pretty adult themes like
death loss and betrayal as hiccup also
must deal with confronting his long-lost
mother it’s an emotional rollercoaster
for everyone that is who you are
son number five The Incredibles whatever
happened to ladies first well whatever
happened to equal create look wait the
lady got me first most adults probably
can’t relate to being superheroes but
there are more than a few messages that
resonated in this Pixar hit they’re
experts experts Bob exploiting every
loophole dancing every obstacle they’re
penetrating the bureaucracy years after
supers have been forced into retirement
by the general public
Bob Parr also known as mr. incredible
and his family have settled into a
mundane suburban life fighting bad guys
has been replaced with trying to remain
low-key and his super family is
struggling to make it work until they
find themselves caught up in an epic
battle with a new generation of bad guy
you sly dog you got me moto uh
incredibly witty and sharp the movie is
also just a lot of fun and that’s
something both kids and adults want out
of life
number four Shrek mm-hmm I’ve been I ate
some rotten berries man had some strong
gases eking out of my butt that day this
computer-generated comedy featured the
vocal stylings of Mike Myers and Eddie
Murphy along with enough nods to the
adults that you’d think the kids were an
afterthought how though she lives with
seven other men she’s not easy just
gives her dead frozen lips and find out
what I live why she is the film tells
the story of an ogre who’s tasked with
saving a princess from her castle Prison
and uniting her with a power-hungry Lord
who seeks a kingdom I will make this
Princess Fiona my queen and your luck
will finally have the perfect King as it
turns out Shrek and the princess fall in
love but their romance is not without
its complications there are
misunderstandings and a wedding that has
to be interrupted I need to talk to you
oh now you want to talk well it’s a
little late for that so if you’ll excuse
me but you can’t marry him and through
it all there’s an abundance of jokes
that kids won’t get until they’re much
much older so that must be lord
farquaad’s castle uh-huh that’s the
place do you think maybe he’s
compensating for something
number three finding Nemo
just think in a couple of days we’re
gonna be paid yeah losing your child is
probably every parent’s worst nightmare
so when it happens to an overprotective
daddy fish he leaves no stone unturned
or in this case no oyster unopened to
find his son a boat hey I’ve seen a boat
uh-huh and it passed by not too long ago
a white one after a barracuda attack
destroys his family and spares only his
son a clownfish named Marlon becomes a
hover parent
all right we’re excited first day of
school here we go we’re ready to learn
to get some knowledge
now what’s the one thing we have to
remember about the ocean it’s not safe
that’s my boy when his son gets snatched
away by humans he goes on an adventure
far outside of his comfort zone to get
him back no it’s true I forget things
almost instantly it runs in my family
well I mean at least I think it does um
hmm where are they he enlists the aid of
a perpetually forgetful fish named Dory
in his journey while Nemo also tries to
escape from his human captors and return
to his father
big blue big in addition to being
rapturously well animated Finding Nemo
tugs at the paternal heartstrings to no
end
Oh saw the whole thing dude first you
rolling whoa and then we run oh you like
number two The Lion King
a king’s time as ruler rises and falls
like the Sun one day Simba the Sun will
set on my time here and will rise with
you as the new king it’s one of those
movies that sticks with kids well into
adulthood The Lion King is a
Shakespearean tale of a young lion cub
named Simba who witnesses his father’s
death but is tricked into believing that
he was responsible by his scheming uncle
Scar but the king is dead
if it weren’t for you we’d still be
alive Simba runs away and matures into a
carefree adult lion after being
befriended by a happy-go-lucky meerkat
and a warthog when the world turns its
back on you you turn your back on the
world when he reunites with a childhood
friend he realizes that his place is
with his pride and he must confront his
evil uncle besides this is my kingdom if
I don’t fight for it oh well aside from
the amazing storyline the film
definitely juggles moments of sincerity
with the inanity that kids love and
let’s not forget that mufasa’s death
scene makes us want to hug our parents
that much closer get up before we unveil
our number-one pick here are some
honorable mentions okay all right as
long as it doesn’t come near us we’re
