just because it’s fast doesn’t mean it’s
only for the guys hi I’m Miranda lights
down with watchmojo.com and today we’re
gonna talk to the women of superbike how
did you get into Superbike racing I used
to have a street bike for many years I
had a street bike and I crashed one day
and I didn’t feel comfortable anymore on
the street so I figured I’d go take a
racing course to just feel better in the
curves and feel better on the street
finally I did just one lap around the
track and I fell in love my dad used to
race well he actually took schools and
when I was younger I was about 15 he
took me to the fast racing school at Rae
City and Calgary and took about a
session and I started promptly kicking
his butt so he quit and I kept Gracie so
what’s it like being out there with the
30 other riders on the track how do you
guys see from hitting each other what’s
the etiquette on the racetrack
everybody’s pretty clean as a racer
anyway if you’re not a clean racer you
can’t get your license up there seven in
front you pass and what do you like most
about being on the bike on the track I
think it’s really cool is when you got
your helmet on it’s just you in the bike
which is you know really nice and you
can just go out there and rip some
couple laps and when you put a really
good lap together it’s really
comfortable and I like it I like doing a
lot of tracks I like teaching a lot – I
like the adrenaline I like the knee and
the curves are all leaned over and
you’re side-by-side of 250 kilometers an
hour
who’s gonna chicken first and put the
brakes on and what’s it like being a
woman in this sport in this field
there’s really no difference whether
you’re a guy or a girl I mean a riders a
rider right so I think as a female I
have a little bit more of an advantage
because I’m a little bit smaller
the last weight you have on the bike the
faster you can go out of a corner
so as far as I’m concerned it doesn’t
really matter whether you’re a guy or
girl women make men faster because they
don’t want to be stuck behind a woman
they don’t want their friends they laugh
at them because the woman’s faster a lot
of there’s a lot of fast women here but
knowledge disrespect but I think all
riders respect other races that can you
explain to me the different categories
that are in Superbike in the racing the
different championship there’s a couple
different championships depending on
your bike Jordan races Superbike which
is the thousand CC and pro sport bike
which is the 600 cc I race amateur 600
which is the same bike as Jordans just
in the amateur class that’s why we have
red numbers as opposed to black one yeah
and there’s actually I think there’s
both 32 of us out there today so it’s
pretty big grid which is awesome thank
you very much of course any time we race
I race the same class as my boyfriend I
also raise the women’s and my son races
CBR 125 so we help each other out well
thank you very much Natalie my pleasure
