The Urban Countryside: Giant Sushi (Comedy Skit)

if you’ve seen the show before you know
that I have a flair for international
cuisine and today is no exception
everybody was kungfu cook in so today we
will be trying an experiment on the
traditional sushi recipe now as you may
or may not know sushi is a blanket term
for many different Japanese foods so
here we’ve gotten a Giri which is slices
of fish served on pads of rice here
we’ve got sashimi which you’ll notice
the rice is served on the side and then
finally we’ve got the Maki roll which is
a rolled sushi and probably the most
recognizable of all the sushis a normal
Maki roll would use a 4 by 4 inch sheet
of nori about a handful of rice and
slivers of fish or vegetables today
we’re going to be working on a much
bigger scale we’re going to be using
bamboo blinds as a roller and a four by
four foot sheet of nori this is going to
take plenty of rice cookers ready to
work overtime we’ve already prepared our
roller with saran wrap on top of that we
have some custom ordered kelp from right
off the coast of California near the
always beautiful Big Sur now if that is
out of your price range you’ll probably
need about 144 sheets or 10 packets of
15 now here we’ve laid our nori out
evenly and making sure not to tear it
while we’re in the process and now we’re
going to add about a quarter of an inch
layer of rice to one of the short ends
of the nori now break up the rice making
sure not to leave any giant clumps and
Pat it down to make a nice firm row once
that’s done it’s time to add the bulk
quality fish suitable for sushi like
salmon or red snapper can be expensive
so I’ve come up with a nifty solution
try mixing for tons of mayonnaise two
full bottles of wisdom of hot sauce or
wasabi and 20 servings of canned ham
once that’s mixed together we’re just
going to spread a thin layer on the
inner edge of the rice now
as another solution instead of crunchy
tempura we can use frosted corn flakes
so you’re just going to want to crunch
them right on the edge now that that’s
done we’ll be adding the vegetables here
I’ve chosen some lovely genetically
modified carrots now that all our
ingredients are in we are ready to roll
now roll keeping it tight and ensuring
the blinds don’t overlap each other you
made sure to put extra filling in so a
little spillage is in the end of the
world now when we come back we will be
slicing our sushi roll into personal
pizza sighs we’re all
