hi I’m Carolina from watchmojo.com today
we’re at the Just for Laughs breakdance
competition to talk to some be boys tell
me how you guys got started in break
dancing I started like 10 years ago and
because i was playing the djembe and i
have a lot of energy so for me it was
like the perfect combination b-boying
and i started dancing on parties and
stuff like that and now the like
traveling around the globe and living at
a dance so it’s been great i got started
six years ago very cliche actually i saw
our video clip of somebody dancing and
it’s like that’s what i want to do took
me about a year to find somebody who
started dancing and I started and I
never quit he’s like in fact how has
breakdancing changed since it started
for you guys when I started it was all
tricks you have to do like a biggest
trick like when the crowd goes OH that’s
when you win but now it’s more about a
combination of things so your foundation
your original stuff your own style you
spent to me what a breakdance battle is
what are the rules it’s a competition
between two crews it can be like group
against group 2 1 2 3 against 3 or 101
you try to like out dance your opponents
and try to do it better and it’s got a
lot to do with attitude it’s like a
little theatre role you play you know
you play somethin bad as to try to beat
your opponents it has a lot to do with
tactics it’s like a game of chess you
know when to do what
you guys are from Belgium what country
do you think is the best in terms of
breakdancing who’s been coming up with
the most innovative creative hardcore
stuff that you can think of we will say
you will do as they say still the best
USA is where it came from so I think
you’re like always one step ahead you
know like Korea also really extreme
friends they were really good like a
couple years ago now i don’t know
they’re going down a little bit and
holland was the next want from us
they’re really coming up what would you
recommend to someone who just wants to
start out in break dancing be very open
try to learn as much as possible in the
beginning to learn the foundation but
also try all kinds of original stuff
with people that went very far in your
own style thanks guys no problemo
