a ride in the brand new 2011 BMW 135i
Cabriolet BMWs motto is the driving
experience and no matter which series
you’re in one three five six you’re
going to have a good driving experience
in Europe the one series is extremely
popular they have a bunch of different
models but here in North America we only
have two the 128 I and the 135 I this in
particular is a 135 I which means it is
the more powerful model it has a turbo
engine
it used to be a twin turbo and last
generation but now it’s single turbo
that they call a twin power turbo
slightly confusing gives that 300
horsepower it’s a 3 liter 6 cylinder
it’s an amazing engine and it said a
little bit farther back in the engine
bay which means it bounces out the car
so in the taking corners there’s no
weight displacement it’s not throwing
itself off the end w thinks about
everything when they engineer their cars
driving this car is kind of like driving
a mini used a little bit bigger but you
get the same handling response this is
just phenomenal
so the 135i has this you see little
sport feature in any car that has a
sport button catches my eye I
automatically want to press it so I’m
going to snap it into sport now it’s
simply like that basically what it does
is it tightens up the throttle response
and it drags out the gears so that I
have a bit more power
a tear at the 135i is pretty much like
any other BMW it’s very plush it’s very
luxurious you’ve got the two-tone
leather insert got the floral wall not
here on the dash even though this is a
convertible there’s actually quite a bit
of trunk space because it’s a soft top
it doesn’t take up that much room with
the trunk so you open up the trunk you
realize you can actually fit some
luggage in there and more than just
groceries and you’ve got a back seat
which gives you even more space now this
135i comes with a special and the
package now unfortunately that doesn’t
do anything to the engine but what it
does do is it outfits the car with this
fancy sporty or beefier steering wheel
because you better grip when you’re
doing sporting maneuvers on the road and
these sporty racy bucket seats that
girls will be adjusted in a number of
ways for comfort apparently size doesn’t
matter for the one series and BMW has
proven that great things really do come
in small packages
