so we’re here to check out another one
the brand new Audi TTS

howdy first introduced to TT in 1999 and
since then I’ve seen very little design
changes although this year it is a
little bit wider a little bit lower a
little bit larger more aggressive which
is great because the Audi TT has been
known to be called the inverted bathtub
car which is very nice even with the top
up this car still looks great and most
convertible to the top up kind of like
chopped in half the lines don’t flow but
the TT actually works with the top up
even though it’s a different color and
it’s fabric and not a hardtop now this
is the Audi TTS
which means it has a turbocharged engine
it’s 2-liter four-cylinder engine that
pushes out 265 horsepower now you
wouldn’t think that that’s a lot most of
the sporty or cars these days are
pushing past 300 but because this car is
just over a ton it’s got quite a bit of
power and you notice it right away
there’s a bit of turbo lag but when you
really push your foot down on the
throttle it goes because it’s so light
now when the TTS I have the option to
put the car into sport mode now what
that does is it lengthens out the gears
and it also makes a throttle response
much more fast I can also change the
suspension make it a much sportier or
much more rigid which means it’ll handle
corners much better basically what this
does is kind of make the TTS what it’s
meant to be a tiny little roadster
sports car that you can have fun with on
the back country roads on the weekend I
really wish I like the interior of the
ie TTS a bit more than I do it’s not
that I don’t like this baseball glove
type leather to your ear with the
stitching on the side and very
comfortable it’s very plush but I just
don’t like the layout now for somebody
like myself who’s quite a bit shorter
when my seat is pushed forward accessing
anything here becomes almost impossible
if I want to reach back and get to my
cell phone or to a drink that’s here I’m
actually hitting the seat with my arm
it’s very uncomfortable and thank God
I’m not shifting because it’d be the
same thing seat is right here other than
that the interior of the Audi is it’s
gorgeous they designed it very well the
steering wheel is very race inspired
it’s cut off on the bottom which if
you’re taller is great because you have
more room for your legs
Howdy’s entertainment system is actually
quite difficult to figure out now it
took me a little while to understand the
two knobs and the way the folder system
worked with these four buttons here you
think it’s a touchscreen and you kind of
want it to be until you realise that
it’s not the coolest thing about this
system is actually the SD card slots
that are hidden behind the screen when
you press a button the screen flips out
very futuristically
you also have a DVD ROM in there and
then the two slots for your memory cards
so because this is a two-seat roadster
it has no back seat and the trunk is
actually quite small even though the top
does not fold into the trunk the trunk
itself is very narrow so you can’t
really fit much in there
so what Audi is done is outfitted the
front with these nifty little
compartments there’s actually a hidden
one behind my seat so it’s kind of like
a hidden compartment and there’s one in
the middle here it’s actually quite
large and I thought was quite roomy
until I realized it’s actually a
pass-through to the trunk so if you do
put something in there and you take off
from a stop rather quickly it’s going to
go right to the back of the truck
ideal for those hot summer days on those
open country roads and just as good on
those twisty backcountry roads the Audi
TTS might be a bit pricey but is one of
the best summer toys I know of
