Surviving the Dentist – Getting Work Done

okay so Calvin the first thing we’re
gonna take care of here obviously we’re
not going to get too complex you have a
stain from an old bonding that was done
a while ago okay I’m gonna see if I can
just remove that stain a little bit okay
so what we’re gonna do is simply take
our little sanding discs you won’t feel
a thing don’t worry or when you’re with
dr. Leonard Gordon you can always put on
your goggles and watch virtual
television it just might that perk okay
so if you want me to stop lift up your
left hand okay put this blue liquid on
your teeth it’s called an etch and what
it does is it makes the tooth a little
bit more porous to accept the bonding
after sort of helps the gluing process
right mm-hmm just like that now we’re
gonna rinse that off a little bit of
water in there
bonding is actually the adhesive that we
use on the tooth to make the filling
stick okay but people use bonding
generally to do any white fillings of it
this is a what we call a photo
polymerizing light it’s very dangerous
to take a look at it
now we can apply our white filling so
that first part was the adhesive and
this is the actual tooth the white tooth
material the bonding
all that we need to do now is finish up
with the polishing open just a little
bit
and to finish what we’re gonna use is a
diamond paste which will give the tooth
a nice white gloss how does that feel
okay actually that was quick and
completely painless I never felt
anything that was just comforting good
so that’s an example of how we can
remove a stain off of a tooth if we
wanted to correct a rotation or a tooth
that is not in the proper alignment or
too narrow we can use the same technique
