who could possibly be angrier than the
Incredible Hulk we’re glad you asked I’m
warning you don’t smile for your concept
welcome to watchmojo.com and today we
will explore the comic book origins of
the Red Hulk web series my moviestar
material still I guess it wouldn’t hurt
to raise my public profile as with most
comic book characters they’re often
reimagining and different versions to a
character’s past we have chosen to
primarily follow the storyline that was
set up in 1962 s Incredible Hulk number
1 and was further explored in 2010 s
Hulk number 22 and 23 The Hulk has
bought a lot of opponents in his life
but none of them seemed as evenly
matched with him as the Red Hulk after
all they are both humans transformed by
gamma radiation into monsters of
enormous strength but who exactly was
the Red Hulk when he was in human form
that was the burning question when the
character suddenly appeared in 2008 but
to fully answer that question you had to
go all the way back to the Hulk’s first
appearance in 1962
as most people know the Hulk was created
when brilliant scientist Bruce Banner
saved a teenager who wandered into an
experiment involving gamma radiation by
doing so banner exposed himself to
massive amounts of gamma rays turning
him into the muscle-bound behemoth we
all know and love dubbed the Hulk he had
what might be called issues with anger
management and impulse control Bruce
Banner had been working with General
Fatah’s Thunderbolt Ross a hard-assed
man of action who disliked the bookish
scientist I think you can control no no
nah cannot control it but I know maybe
aiming and what if you can but his
dislike for banner paled in comparison
to his hatred of the Hulk hunting down
the green Menace became an obsession for
the general flash-forward to 2008 where
a powerful creature known as the Red
Hulk showed up on the scene with a clear
vendetta against the original greenie
first you were enemies then a friend and
now an enemy again make up your mind
the new Hawks identity was a complete
mystery and would be for some time
seemingly as strong as the original Hulk
Red Hulk had the ability to siphon off
energy from other beings he was also a
tactical genius and incredibly
aggressive it also turned out that there
was a female version of him the red
she-hulk and she was trying to take him
down things didn’t work out that way
though during the fight the two red
creatures made a startling discovery
they were father and daughter Red Hulk
was actually Thunderbolt Ross and
she-hulk
was his beloved daughter Betty I made a
whole career out of beating on green
monsters for the good ol US Army finally
I decided to fight fire with fire
and Hulka ties myself how you asked did
this all come about in a special 2010
origin issue
Ross related how deeply he had resented
being humiliated by the Hulk when they
first met and how desperately he desired
the monsters power his hatred eventually
led him to commit treason by working
with the evil villain MODOK in order to
try to defeat the Hulk his actions also
inadvertently resulted in the death of
his daughter Ross again made a pact with
the dark side agreeing to work with
MODOK and another villain the leader if
they would bring back
daughter from the dead they did so then
arranged for the Hulk’s powers to be
siphoned off and put into Ross turning
him into the Red Hulk
they also without telling him turned
Betty into the red she-hulk now filled
with all the power he had ever desired
and more Ross was free to try to mold
the world into the shape he always
thought it should be that is of course
until the real Hulk arrived to kick his
butt it took some effort but luckily he
eventually succeeded luckily that is for
the rest of us the Red Hulk is an
interesting character not least because
he sometimes operates on the side of
good as well as evil but whichever side
he’s on when the Red Hulk is around you
know that mayhem and destruction are
sure to follow
at ease greenie will stops car before he
surrenders the cannon to Annihilus are
you a fan of the hot-tempered Red Hulk
