helmet that is meant to limit these head
injuries I think the NHL is doing a good
job of all do you understand that
concussions especially this year it’s
been a pretty big parliament
let me just a lot our team we had seven
guys that had concussions this year so
obviously it’s a problem it’s good to
see guys like Bauer trying to prevent
that and I think they’re pretty good job
with it I think it was alarming the last
you know year and a half the amount of
concussions that they were being
diagnosed in an amount of time that no
guys were missing obviously with what
Syd and in his situation that opens up a
lot more eyes as well and we talked
about it more and people become more
aware so I think for myself person I can
only speak on behalf of myself but I’ve
really started to take an interest in
knowing more about the technology and
the equipment and what’s the safest with
the game that continuously evolved we as
a manufacturer as a leading manufacturer
and head safety and protection our goal
here is to also evolve and to better
meet those player needs and better
protect them and offer a more protective
helmet unlike anything out there in the
industry today
first and foremost helmet needs to have
proper fit it’s not fitting that player
properly then it’s not protecting that
player properly
second of all comment needs to be able
to manage linear impacts when we talk
linear impact management we’re talking
about a direct force a direct energy
transfer this has been part of the
standard for many many years and was
mainly put into place to protect against
skull fractures and finally this is that
more of a recent research suggests that
rotational impacts can cause severe
damage to the brain this is not part of
today’s standards but medical experts
agree this is can be a major cause and
head trauma so how does it work suspend
tech is wrapped around the players head
more like a sling that material do the
elasticity stretches
and it’s independent from the rest of
the helmet allowing the rest of the
helmet to slightly turn slightly move
with the impact help dissipating that
force this material is made out of a
Poron XRD which is a high-end durable
foam and I’ll give you a quick
demonstration of how it takes impact and
is able to disperse so here’s a standard
ball drop here’s a standard deviation
this is just to give you a comparison of
how high-end this foam really is so when
I drop this ball you’re gonna see a
bounce the bounce is not a good thing
that means the energy transfer is going
through the foam to the brain now when I
drop it on this Poron XRD you’re gonna
see it take that energy and disperse it
dissipate it and spread it out and again
this is the material that our new
suspend technology is made out of it
it’s called Poron XRD so we tested a
react helmet with suspend Tec and then a
react helmet with conventional liner to
really get that difference to show you
how that suspend techs working what
we’re looking at now is what’s happening
to the brain inside the helmet the more
red you see is the more strain level on
the brain we’re more stress to the brain
so this is in slow motion the helmets
falling hits the surface and you can see
the strain level it creates so at peak

difference between the react element
would suspend tech versus more of a

about 17 percent reduction in a
rotational force 17 percent less strain

definitely feel a lot more confident and
