hello this is Chris with watchmojo.com
reporting to you from the Ubisoft
development studio here in Montreal now
i sat down with Cedric one of the
representatives here and spoke about
some of the franchise’s the Ubisoft has
worked on as well as some of the
franchise’s that they have up-and-coming
that we can look forward to let’s have a
listen so can you explain to us exactly
what your role is here at Ubisoft well
my role is to manage everything that has
to do with the image of the company so
everything is with branding media
relations corporate relations
sponsorship all of that splinter cell I
mean Tom Clancy and you guys have been a
really nice marriage for the past few
years what sort of developments can be
expected in Sam Fisher and in the
upcoming game we’re working on the fifth
installment of the Splinter Cell the
next game is going to be called splinter
cell conviction it’s going to be
launched in march two thousand eight one
thing we’re trying to do is really to
bring sam closer to a real human being
so we want a player to discover who sam
fisher is and to have an attachment with
the human person not the superheroes by
type of character basically in
conviction Sam Fisher will be gadget
less or
you know weapons list he’s going to be
all by itself so you’ll have to make
your own way and by your own means
without counting on you know used to be
counting on lambert to give you
information you know you have to put a
bath on this computer or stuff like that
we also got the influence lot from you
know series like 24 we’re really trying
to jam a lot of action in short
sequences and it’s going to be real time
as well I remember bungee a few years
ago explaining their halo philosophy
which is you take you know 5 20 seconds
of really good gameplay and you try to
repeat that formula over throughout the
game we’re trying to implement some
processes where at every eight or nine
minutes we’re trying to have a memorable
moment in the game play experience so
that when the player is playing you know
you’re you’re fighting you’re making you
away and then boom something’s happens
that you know gets you really hooked to
this story and then you continue and
then you have another memorable moment
so it’s really one thing that we’re
trying to do is really to convey
emotions throughout these boots
