these guys are today’s answer to a good
old American rock band hi I’m Rebecca
Brayton and welcome to watchmojo.com and
today we’re speaking with Shinedown to
get their take on the rock of today and
yesterday
was he first ever show my first show was
Leonard Skynyrd in the Damn Yankees damn
yankees but my second show is good kids
on the block so it doesn’t really count
def leppard with Queens Reich opening
yeah thank you don’t make shows like
that anywhere it was on hysteria to her
when they’re in the round Oh on the side
no Derek just walked by me look at me
funny I like say the Eric’s first show
was Nelson and enough’s enough so he
can’t make fun of me for anything
Oh Nelson earth is those like the
brothers with the hair yeah nice look
like chicks check on the Left really
cool matter what huh
do either of you have one album that
kind of changed her life one that always
sticks out for me is nine inch nails
downward spiral just that hangs down
there that was high school for me
nineteen ninety late high school when I
was just going off to college so it’s
1994 which led zeppelin one joshua tree
by youtube youtube my favorite band of
all time jailbreak Thin Lizzy and then
next would be live the band live
throwing copper that’s like I really
like when that was the first CD like
this guy ever owned and I listened that
record all time and now I’m not even a
big fan of that band anymore I just I
remember that CD kind of changed my it
brought me into my teens I guess you
would say
what is your take on the state of rock
music today large question haha sucks
there’s just not a lot out there that
inspires me there’s a lot of great bands
but nothing is inspiring me and stirring
me up and maybe it’s because you know
I’m in that age group now where maybe a
little jaded I don’t know I’m not a
young kid that gets excited about new
music I think the issue with with van
Housen nobody tries anymore no one tries
to be different no one you know I think
we’re all in the lady gaga because it’s
different and she tried you know I think
like I said it really saddens me that
there will never be another Michael
Jackson and there could be really could
i think michael jackson won the greatest
artists of all time but there could be
if people actually try
grunge did a really bad thing to us a
great things have brought some good
music but it also do bad thing because
he only had in that three chords and you
only knew how to had to know how to play
a simple beat we’ve lost musicianship
and a lot of ways and so a lot of the
rock music becomes stale because they’re
really not that good at what they do
they have pride themselves on being a
good musician
people just need to start being original
and coming up with new things Rock
definitely needs to get stirred up a
little bit and you know we try to do
that with our albums and then try to do
something new and yeah we’re a
mainstream rock band but still we try
something
