Scrapbooking: Picture Book Layout

hi I’m Samantha star and this is
watchmojo today we’re going to be
matting our photos with two different
color card stocks and we’re going to be
using a pattern paper for our base and
another card stock to enhance our page
so the first step is going to be cutting
our cardstock down to size for our photo
mats because we’re working with two
photos we’re going to need two pieces of
paper that are four and a quarter six
and a quarter we are going to double
match our photos meaning that we are
going to put two frames around them so
we’re going to cut our second color in
this case black to four and a half six
and a half so now what you have to start
doing is gluing your pictures down to
your mat and then gluing that down on to
the second color so what we’re going to
do next is cut the block for our title
two and a half inches by 11 inches and
then I’m going to glue down my title
block near the top of the page a good
trick is to use an ink cube and run it
along the edge of your cardstock
something new that i’ll be showing you
today our eyelids you do need special
tools to set these i prefer to use a
hole punch and a setter tool then you
want to position the hole punch where
you want your eyelet to be and then what
you do with a hammer is you give it a
couple of whacks and that makes the hole
in the page take your eyelet and slip it
through turn the page over and on the
back side you’re going to have the
little end of the eyelet sticking out
now you need to take the tip of your
eyelet setting tool and insert it in
that little end that’s sticking out and
hit the hammer again and that sets so
we’re going to put one of these on each
end of our piece of cardstock so now
that we’ve got our title block done what
we’re going to do is we’re going to glue
our pictures down onto the page now
we’re going to be using this pre-cut
title and in order to make it just a
little bit more interesting I thought
that we put some 3d adhesive underneath
what we call pop dots which are
basically little foam squares and have a
little bit of thickness to them for the
last step what we’ll do is we’re going
to add a couple of pieces of cardstock
down here so that we can write in the
names of the people in the photos I
think we’re going to use pieces
that are an inch by four and a half
inches our last step is going to be
inserting the Brad’s onto the page so
you just want to stab that right through
there and that makes a hole for you to
insert your bread easily so it comes out
the back side and then what you want to
do is you just want to turn it over and
open it up so now we’ve completed our
page the only thing left to do would be
to add some text into our text boxes
below so now you’ve seen some more tools
and embellishments that you can use on
your pages so you can imagine all of the
possibilities that are available to you
in the world of scrapbooking
