Remembering the Sega Dreamcast: Resident Evil

[Music]
now to keep the momentum of the
Dreamcast initial launch up and high and
going really strong second needed to
release another killer app and they did
that with the incredible resident evil
code veronica now this game was the
first Resident Evil game to move away
from those static two-dimensionally
rendered CG backdrops and actually give
you a fully three-dimensional
environment this game was housed on two
separate discs and each disc allowed you
to play as one of the two Redfield you
know kids you had Claire Redfield and
Chris Redfield now the story took place
in a sort of you know zombie infested
town the sort of reminiscence of
Resident Evil 4 but really what set this
game apart was just the leap but the
series took when they release this game
graphically we had seen nothing like it
up into lab point the character models
were huge and beautifully rendered on
top of that the story was incredible the
music was incredible again a lot of
those things that you would hear anyone
saying about a lot of Dreamcast games
applied to this game they raised the bar
with this game release and the game just
was incredible
