what’s up this is classified and you are
watching watchmojo.com they call me mr.
negativity call it how I see yes I’m
back in the vicinity bringing what you
need plus all of the amenities know what
you can say to the run of the mill
running the drill none of its real
celebrity so let’s talk about handshakes
and those fingers what were you going
for when you were writing the album and
what do you think that you have achieved
I was really going for anything I gonna
start an album it’s just you know my
whole mind frame is I want to just try
to do better than what I did last night
I want my feet to my music side you
sound better I want my right my rhyming
my rap into flow better and just
lyrically better and stuff but see me
with my sunglasses on in the club
dancing on the tables to my whole song
like I’m about to start my new record
next month as soon as the stores over my
mind frame now is just think of ideas
write it down try to be clever with the
music and just try to try to try to
impress myself
don’t care what they say
what about lyrical themes what it what
do you like to focus on it’s probably
too cliche but just life we live in life
you know I mean touring my home life for
my kids and my girl to you know just
what I do that’s kind of my inspiration
i read about what I live what I learned
you know stuff it’s happening the pastor
so you never see me use it trying to
justify my music at award shows I didn’t
win I know what is I mean you kind of
touched on this but what is your overall
process for creating an album is a song
by song or isn’t an overall thing uh
totally song by song like I don’t start
an album go this is the theme of my
album now I’m gonna create it’s usually
just have an a song idea i start the
song you know go hard on that psalm 43
week to put it away start the next song
usually once it gets like six or seven
sides you usually see like a reoccurring
theme and that’s kind of usually with
the album it starts to shape right did
you ever get writer’s block every day
hello brighton moms but hey when i draw
blanks i feel like i’m repeating myself
I’m overworked and both the go berserk
if I don’t get this off my shoulders I’m
a whole lot like I know some guys i can
write sonic sit down and a half like me
it really takes I gotta sit there and
try different flows and try to you know
takes me sometimes two or three hours to
write a verse 16 Bevers sometimes it
comes quick but most of the time I got
to sit there and really bang my head on
the wall and try this try tap record a
little of this and a lot of trying here
is this the sound still winter I don’t
know if this was true but I’ve seen you
say that you’re kind of hesitant to
think of yourself as like the
spokesperson for Canadian hip hop is
this true um yeah I don’t wanna be the
spokesman for now I don’t know if I said
that before but I don’t want even spoke
to you for now it’s too much
responsibility I’m the spokesman for me
and what I represent no no one can
really deny that yes I’m the ultimatum
and it’s on the where I’m often hated
cuz they know relating and I don’t feel
offended every
the piece I just really hate pretending
so all you get us meet
I know you don’t want to be a
spokesperson we won’t make you a
spokesperson thank you you have you know
you have a lot of success and experience
so what kind of advice would you give
young up-and-coming you know Canadian
hip hop artists tour like I say it every
time at be interview I’ve been saying it
for years but like that’s really how I
built my career and separate myself from
all those other artists that just put
their mp3’s up and you know shoot videos
but you gotta go build that connection
with fans and get out learn how to do a
live show cuz and that’s how you get
paid and I mean you don’t make money off
album sales you do live shows that’s
where you get paid it so learn how to do
a live show and and just love what
you’re doing because it’s a lot of
bullshit work but if you love what
you’re doing it’s worth it thank you
very much
