now we’re going to take a look at the
soaps on ABC starting with all my
children created by Agnes Nixon all my
children made us debut in January of
1970 it’s set in the fictional town of
Pine Valley and two of its residents are
among its original cast members we have
Susan Lucci Erica Kane and rain
McDonald’s dr. Joe Martin the soap is
famous first commitment to social issues
with storylines revolving around aids
abortion homosexuality spousal abuse
rape and many more it’s also the first
soap to feature the first same-sex kiss
between the characters of Lena and
Bianca next we have one life to live
also created by Agnes Nixon debuted in
July of 1968 it takes place in the
fictional town of land view which just
so happens to be a short distance away
from Pine Valley perfect for character
crossovers with all my children stories
revolve around the core families of the
Lord’s buchanan’s and Kramer’s and the
story lines have been critically
acclaimed for bringing such social
topics as interracial romance gang
violence personality disorders and drug
addiction to viewers
