Nintendo about the Wii U Wii U is a new
system it’s our new next leap forward
for console gaming and it’s all about
innovation for Nintendo it’s always been
about innovation for us and the new Wii
U gamepad is the new controller that has
a touchscreen built into it it’s its own
screen where you can watch your games on
that screen it has tons of ways to
basically put you into the content
that’s happening in your video games in
ways that have never been done before I
guess the most logical question is how
is it different from the Wii Wii was a
leap forward as far as innovation when
it came to motion controls being put
into video games what we you does is it
still uses motion controls but with the
new gamepad controller it gives you a
different perspective so imagine this if
you’re using the Wii U gamepad and
playing with three other players who are
using Wii Remote Plus controllers the
perspective that you get using the
gamepad could be very different from the
perspective that the other players are
getting and you may not even look at the
TV screen and that’s what the other
players are looking at and what it does
is it makes it more fun because it gives
you a different way to enjoy the realm
of that video game that’s never been
able to be done before what can you tell
us about the system in terms of powered
cetera well there’s a lot to look
forward to it’s backwards compatible
with all of your Wii games so all that
time and energy and money you’ve spent
on games you can actually play all of
your Wii games on Wii U it’s also
accessory compatible so your Wii Remote
Plus is your Wii remotes your Wii
Balance Board are all compatible with
the new system it is a gaming system
first but the whole idea is that
Nintendo really envisions people picking
up the Wii U gamepad and turning the
system on once a day we’ve got a
offering called me verse which is
basically an online community for you to
communicate with other Wii U owners and
other people around the world who are
enjoying the same games and
entertainment that you are on this
in really interesting ways we’ve got
great games coming out at launch and
there’s gonna be great games for the
future that come for sure and we’ve got
tremendous support from our third-party
developers as well so who would you say
is the main audience for this console it
really depends on what kind of game
you’re talking about because the
audience is really determined by the
types of games that people play we say
that we make games for everyone aged 5
to 95 we really do mean that there is
something for everyone in our Wii U
products in our we products and our
Nintendo DS family of system products so
depending on what you’re into I mean the
family can play new super mario brothers
you together mom can play Wii Fit you
but you can all play zombie you if you
want although we recommend that for an
older audience because it is killing
zombies there’s gonna be tons of games
that come out each offering something
different but it really is for everybody
