Mother Teresa

born in Macedonia on August 27 1910 very
little is known about Mother Teresa’s
early life except for personal
reminiscence at the age of 12 mother
Teresa decided she wanted to work for
the forum began training for a
missionary work by the age of 18 she had
joined an Irish community of nuns in
Calcutta and after a few months of
training in Dublin followed them to
India to begin her work from 1930 to
1948 she taught geography and catechism
at the same school that she’d become
principal of in 1944
however by 1946 she had heard her
calling from God to help for the poor so
she pushed and she worked by 1948 Pope
Pius the 12th granted her permission to
leave her community and work as an
independent nun
a number of her pupils followed her in
1949 and by 1952 that established the
first home of the dying by 1971 she had
won the pope john xxiii peace prize
which only led up to her 1979 winning of
the nobel peace prize and then later
again in 1985 she won the Presidential
Medal of Freedom this all makes you go
to wonder just how the death of such a
marvelous lady can be overshadowed in
the media by the death of a figurehead
such as Princess Diana
