Microsoft Kinect for Xbox 360: A Revolution in Gaming

Xbox 360 users will finally be able to
play games using controller free motion
you played the game earlier on and I saw
you sweat and you were telling me you
were sweating and you know this is what
we’re trying to get people to move
people to feel part of the game and
that’s our objective hi I’m Rebecca
Braden and welcome to watchmojo.com and
today we’re learning more about Kinect
what is Kinect it’s basically a
combination of two cameras that are 3d
cameras an RGB camera and also you’ll
have microphones and at the end of the
day you order a controller it’s really
all using your body and you want to play
bowling you really do the motion of
bowling you want to run you need to do
your physical motion so what we wanted
to do is it basically introduced natural
behavior so language and also speech
recognition and also your movement body
movement and gestures how will connect
attract the hardcore gamer we’re not
leaving the hardcore gamers you know as
you know we just got a low out last week
we also have a couple of good games
coming out from black ops the Gears of
War 3 we’re not leaving the controller
we’re just extending the gameplay for
many people so today if you basically
develop your game I’ll just afford
Kinect 360 it’s gonna support only
Kinect for Xbox 360 if the supplier of
the game says hey I want to support vote
if you don’t want to use connect do you
want to use a controller that’s
basically up to the developer to do to
make that choice how accurate is Kinect
in monitoring body movements first of
all you don’t put sensors on yourself
this the system will recognize that
there’s 20 points of junction and at the
end of day it’s pretty much precise what
I say to people is like I’m not gonna
tell you you’re gonna experience it and
then you make your own conclusion for
Rebecca the game you’re gonna play now
ok it’s a river rush so the purpose of
the game is for movement so you have to
jump what you need to start and then you
have to go slightly on your left or on
your right the capture it is and you
need to jumps over the obstacle so you
need to plan your jump ahead of time and
you catch the A’s so jump what I’ll do
is I’ll join you if you don’t mind this
half this push your side and you’ll see
my character now and up here and as you
can see I’m right there and now we’re
gonna jump
here we go now we’re fine not bad now
you give to yourself of how stupid we
look we’re playing the game so that’s
connect Adventures what are the launch
games for the device we’re looking at 15
games at launch which is November 4th so
just around the corner just ready for
Christmas from Microsoft you you will
have Kinect Sports which is a basically
a combination of different sports you
have some javelin throw you got the long
jump you got the boxing kinectimals
which basically is a little game for you
I would save all ages where you interact
with a wild little pet like a tiger cub
and stuff like that and then you have
all of our third-party suppliers which
are coming with amazing games like your
shape if you want to really get back
into shape
dance central from MTV but there’s a lot
of good games will connect be compatible
with every version of Xbox 360 that’s
available so far anybody who has an Xbox
360 today just ask the bike Connect for
a hundred fifty bucks and they will be
able to enjoy Kinect type of gameplay
and we will also come out with a bundle
package with an Xbox 360 and Kinect also
for the Xbox will connect work with any
existing games Kinect for Xbox 360 will
need to be developed for Kinect Xbox so
every games that you have today you
cannot put them in your system and say
oh it’s gonna play it I could interact
with Kinect does it require minimum
lighting in a room to work it really
does depend like for example in my
basement I had different types of
lightning so if it’s a bit dark guess
what I can still play definitely if you
basically decide to put three big spots
directly in the system yeah you’ll have
some challenges but what we wanted to do
is really adapt to any types of light as
you mentioned Kinect seems pretty geared
towards kind of exercise gaming will
there be anything like a calorie counter
involved again it will depend on the
developer of the game so I know that for
example Ubisoft is developing your shape
which will add this included but it’s
basically depending on the software
publisher thank you very much
Thank You Rebecca
