let’s start by having you introduce
yourselves tell us your role in the band
and kind of give us a fun fact about
yourself that not everyone would know Oh
a name is Derek I sing in May Day Parade
and uh vegetarian secret
if you had to describe your music how
would you do it there’s so many like
different subgenres and different
categories that that I get so confused
with that I just say as simple as its
pop rock
tell me about your single kids in love I
mean it seems kind of a pretty drastic
change of tone from miserable at best
yeah well I mean obviously you know
different points when you when were
writing songs different things are going
on and we always just you know me
personally I always write about whatever
is going on
kids in love is definitely more like a
happy just like a summer love like kids
in love
we like mixing it up you know and not
trying to depress people and do all sad
songs do some happy ones as well the
video is pretty kind of fun loving as
well do you want to tell us a bit about
the concept and you know about the
making of we’ve done the typical you
know us playing somewhere and like a
love story going on like that’s kind of
what we’ve done for every video and so
we wanted to mix it up a little bit and
the director had this idea so we thought
it was cool went with it and that’s its
rap we all liked it a lot
how important do you think music videos
are nowadays I love music videos because
I love being able to see the band or see
whatever concept they have visually with
the song you know I think it’s really
cool and a lot of music videos can be
really well done definitely give it like
a next level you mean
I have to ask about the Pussycat Dolls
cover how does that come about well we
decided to do the punk goes pop two
compilation for fearless
we picked that song the night before we
went to the studio and I actually was
very against it I really didn’t like
that song but I think it turned out
really well and we actually just
recently about a month ago reported a
new punk goes pop three is coming out
for feel us and we did a new cover song
for that
describe to me your relationship with
your friends we try to to be that as
involved as possible and try to you know
walk around during warp tour as much as
we can and do signings every day and
stick around after are set to do
pictures and autographs and things like
that just uh keep because I mean that’s
the reason why we do this you know so we
want to keep them happy and mean a lot
to us
so I guess the last question would be
where do you guys see yourself in 10
years we started the band about almost
five years ago if you’d asked you then
where I’d see myself in five years I
wouldn’t have seen this you know what i
mean so who knows you know i mean we
could be working at guitar center or we
could be still doing this who knows you
know but just well we’ll try and do this
for as long as we can and just have fun
with it
