Interview With The Spill Canvas

I’m Ricky to chain and welcome to
watchmojo.com and today we’re going to
be speaking with the spill canvas as
they fill us in on their musical journey
it’s also bit about the album that just
came out we have an EP two ep’s actually
first one is called abnormalities that
came out in January and then the
follow-up to that was realities there
were something to fill the space because
we had been away for so long we had a
lot of music and now we got in the
studio and we said we gotta get
something out there there’s been a
noticeable change in the music at first
it was a little more maybe grunge era
now it’s more definitely more rock what
kind of prompted that runs last two eps
i had done is my first time doing
co-writes to do it with someone else
bounce ideas off of them it was such a
good experience because it brought out
that new sound
do you ever think you were a leading
your fans by putting out a new sound
maybe they weren’t too sure about it you
always worry about pleasing them you
know but then you’re never going to
please all of them you know and you put
you at the same time you want to make
new fans that might not have liked your
old styles so it’s really it’s a it’s a
never-ending battle that you kind of
just have to sleep on every night and
just go for a few
that being said how do you think the
fans are reacting to the new stuff so
far it’s you know the response is great
I I have you know I’ve heard you know
the negative responses but that comes
with every new record because we’d like
to really try to go a different way
every time it’s to be expected and quite
honestly the negativity it makes the
positive part of things balance you know
and be kind of needed
you guys did a cover of tik tok what
made you do that man yes we did we
thought it would be cool to do some
obscure cover that nobody would think it
started to get a little funny a little
cheesy and we were like yeah okay and
with management in the label we kind of
decided on that Kesha song and you know
honestly the rest is kind of just it is
just unfolded from there we definitely
rolled with it and tried to try to have
fun with it I think we succeeded all
