working class lyrics and rough
sensibility make this Bend a flashback
to great rock acts of days gone by hi
I’m Rebecca Braden and welcome to
watchmojo.com and today we’re speaking
with the arc hills how would you guys
describe your music to someone’s
grandmother too loud don’t come yeah did
you gonna it’s okay and we start way too
late we’re gonna be on in like 1130
midnight you’re gonna miss Larry King
what I usually try to do depending on
the person’s age you’re gonna have to
reference something that they might be
familiar with so for instance if I was
talking to someone who’s like you know
60 years old would be like it’s kind of
like the Beatles and then if I was
talking like a young person like a
twelve-year-old I’d say it’s kind of
like Miley Cyrus or the jonas brothers
but just a little heavier so you can
just kind of say any name of any artist
and then just say it’s like that it’s
just a little it’s a little heavy
ah
so who did you guys grow up listening to
individually and maybe as a group I grew
up listening the beatles a lot my dad
used to be a college DJ so they used to
send them all the records back in like
the late sixties early seventies a lot
of Motown you know like the bandana and
I both really love lots of great
canadian music we’re spoiled here I
think in terms of shows we have to go
see bands we could play with no you
mentioned the US R&B and stuff like that
do you ever see that kind of
infiltrating the music and all I’m
writing a new song so I’m going to turn
each other like to Tim the drama with
like Tim do that beat you know the one
like the Motown beat he’s like what’s
this one and were like yeah did that one
yeah that’s what I love the way they
sing too in terms of dan I be almost the
same the emotion behind the music is
always the best that’s so much fun
watching soul singers sing and we’re not
gonna need very good singers but we try
hard which is kind that’s that’s the one
thing we have in common
now I’m sure you’re tired of talking
about Bruce Springsteen but never we
love Bruce masse your song’s called the
boss is coming which i think is not
actually directly talking about him we
were hoping that maybe you could use it
as an intro music before he goes on
stage we’re trying to pitch it to his
people we’re also trying to pitch that
to the office with Michael Scott there’s
a lot of opportunities vets on placement
wise yeah but song is not about Bruce
Springsteen it is actually about a real
boss and one of the jobs that we worked
at but if you’re watching bruce and you
don’t music keep it up buddy about it
yeah
I don’t know if it’s still the case but
until recently at least you guys are
still working day jobs is that still the
case i recently quit kanokon do anymore
I’ve been hanging on by a thread but
they’re my employer now is really nice
so she had to become come in and out
whenever I’m in town we played her
birthday party to try to convince her to
keep max on the job for a few more
months we went 80 birthday party yeah
there’s a huge success is in her
basement when we’re best shows I want to
request she asks us to play one song Bon
Jovi oh my chili living on a prayer and
that was her birthday present from us
that would have made my birthday we’ll
do it we’ll do it / know what it is oh
yeah listen to okay all right well great
thanks very much okay no problem thank
you yeah
