their extreme metal has made them
superstars on the deaf core scene hi I’m
Rebecca Braden and welcome to
watchmojo.com and today we’re speaking
with suicide silence
let’s have you introduce yourself tell
us what you do in the band and give us a
fun fact about yourself but not everyone
would know my name is Alex Lopez I play
drums and suicide times I’m whole
blooded a stick warrior and that’s not
really a fun fact com I like it I kind
of screwed that one up
we always like to get the origin story
of the band that we interview so why
don’t you tell us how suicide silence
originated it pretty much started in 03
I have known the guitarist Garza who
started the band since like 99 like we
play in bands throughout high school and
then he started the band and then like
shit happened with their drummer and
then I joined and then the road our
first album and then second album now
we’re here and warp tour
what kind of bends did you all grow up
listening to I mean we all love the
classic stuff like Zeppelin and Hendrix
and stuff like that everyone pays off
from two different arts singer listen to
a lot of you know DJ stuff electronica
mellow mood you know a lot of music with
singing and he screams all the time I
listen to everything as well like my
favorite bands like the deftones of
Nirvana are the guitar everyone kind of
listen to everything our bassist and
nothing but death metal how would you
say that your band’s music has it
evolved since the beginning I mean we
all evolve as musicians you know we all
learn more about our instrument you know
different things like because we wanted
to like you know different woods and
this and that so as you grow as
musicians grow as a van kind of like a
soccer team you know like you have a
bunch of good players they all evolved
and get better they become a better team
you know Ben’s I don’t really evolver
bands they usually just sound the same
since they started which is cool in some
cases for some bands that works but when
it’s metal at Cena where was just do our
own thing
you guys had a song on the sauce 6
soundtrack do you think having your
music on a soundtrack like that kind of
brings you to a new audience yes it does
absolutely there’s kids that have never
even heard of us who never even live in
like Singapore and a small somewhere
they won’t have anything they have an
internet but they won’t have any form of
really learning how to like new music
sounds like it looks like you know they
buy a movie or they rented at their
local boudicca’s or whatever and they
they put it on there like what’s this
band
tell us about your live show and maybe
give us the air craziest her tour story
our craziest live show I would say was
downloaded festival it was friggin
amazing you know we just went out there
we played like it right after I forgot
who was like all that remains or
something and it was just like a sea of
people and it was crazy because it’s a
lot of warmer young it’s in England and
a lot of them were really into us and it
was a really good reaction I thought
that was like the craziest show I ever
played the stage was huge back then when
we played it and seemed too crazy but
when I watch like YouTube videos we’re
just like little little specks thank you
very much yeah word
