I’m your host Leila in our latest
interview our music correspondent Glen
Mackenzie spoke to former lead singer of
legendary Celtic punk band the Dropkick
Murphys Mike McColgan about his band
Street dogs I’m Mike I’m with the street
dogs
what’s your sound like I would say punk
rock folk music a little bit of a Celtic
influence hardcore music it’s we
basically play say and do whatever we
want you know that’s that that’s always
been our ethos
so we’re you guys were you originated
from we’re originally from Boston we
started out in early 2003 we have four
releases out we’ve toured America Canada
Japan Europe a bunch of times we just
released a fourth release on Hellcat
epitaph records it’s called state of
grace we came out July 8th and it’s been
doing really good that’s what we’re out
on grants walk tour supporting nice nice
so at the Warped Tour house stream you
guys so far so good I mean each day when
we go out and play we try to get a
bigger circle pit around the
front-of-house engineers tent and so far
each dates been getting bigger and
bigger so we’re hoping for some big
things out of Montreal today so it’s
like being on tour for people who don’t
know what’s like be on the bus it’s a
moving caravan of rock-and-roll
merchandise for responses that’s a lot
that encompasses the Vans Warped Tour I
think Kevin Lyman for a long time now
since 1995 puts on an amazing amazing
tour keeps the ticket price reasonable
Andy he has a lot of different bands
that span different genres and he keeps
it interesting and that that’s what
people keep coming every and that’s why
it still survives on my cause best a
Lollapalooza so what’s next for you guys
after the Vans Warped Tour we’re gonna
do a headlining tour on the United
States and then after that we’re going
to tour your
and then in February before I go to
Japan in Australia right well that’s
cool man that’s I’ll wish you guys the
best with your tour well thank you very
much goes on any man
one last question should a tour with any
band right now live or dead would have
been any fans that we control with live
or dead I would say the clash clash
awesome
