Interview with Singer Massari

the hard work has finally paid off for
this multilingual singer-songwriter hi
I’m Rebecca Brayton and welcome to
watchmojo.com and today were speaking
with Masari about his musical philosophy
and what he’d be doing if he weren’t in
music so when did you first discover
your musical talent honestly I was
always the one between my friends who
was always singing the latest song
whatever was hot what does the things on
the countdown I think I was about 13
years old I tried out for a school
talent show it was me and a couple of my
friends we did it as a joke when I sang
my part and like I sang it full-out
right and they’re like they’re kind of
bit shocked because they never really
thought they never saw me like that and
so then they’re like okay can you guys
come over here we like you but your
friends gotta go I’m like oh you’re for
real they’re like yeah we want you to
perform my friends didn’t want to
perform anyways they were just messing
about time I finished and I got off that
stage I knew this is we was born to do
this is what I wanted to do for the rest
of my life and I was 13 years old at
such a young age I was I was determined
from that day to keep going and pursuing
that dream
what did you grow up listening to what
were your parents playing around the
house obviously there was a lot of
Arabic music a lot of Georgia was sufen
in the house and with the whole Arab
community Lebanese and stuff and then
when I’d go out into the to the
community with my friends and stuff was
all the English music so it was almost
like subconsciously was they were always
both there so when I began composing
composing is very difficult because it
really truly comes from like your soul
and from like your understanding of
music I didn’t realize that I was
composing melodies that were more Arabic
but yet fit in English music and music
notes so I was blessed to be able to
have those things growing up with
because it definitely gave me a
signature sound and growing up and
composing on my own what would you be
doing if you weren’t a musician
good question I’d probably be doing
something in music whether it be
producing making music some somehow
someway I think I love music I love
people too I’d probably be doing some
with people maybe like not teaching or
anything but definitely something with
people I can be in a cubicle
how would you describe your musical
philosophy music is the universal
language and the fact that I speak it
fluently and I’m always spreading a
positive message of love I hope that I
will be remembered as someone who has
tried and done everything in their power
to try to give the youth somewhat of a
glimpse of hope because at the end of
the day they’re the ones who are
dictating what our future is gonna look
like so I pray that through my music
I attract them and then through my
concerts I bring them in closer and then
they get to see my interviews and then
they get to know who I really am and
they see that if kids want to be like
their icons and their idols I’m proud
that kids want to be like me because I
respect my parents I try to do
everything for my community I’m always
trying to I’m a strong man who’s
confident but yet and I don’t need to be
doing nonsense in order for me to feel
good about myself
you know I feed off of positive energy
so if I can be able to kind of have this
have that spread in the mind of the
youth who will one day rule the world
then I’m doing pretty good job thank you
very much I think
