speaking to drummer shawn drover of
megiddo
my get Beth has been together for 30
years were you a fan back then because
you’ve only been with the band for about
six years yeah I was a fan from day one
since the first record came out killing
is my business how do you see their
evolution there’s been musical evolution
there’s been success evolution I mean I
mean the fact that the band’s been here
for more than a quarter of a century
that speaks volumes in its up we’re
still kicking butt so must be doing
something right right what would you say
are some of the trademarks of Megadeth’s
music and lyrics Dave’s are great lyrics
he’s a great songwriter obviously but
he’s a great lyricist that has a lot of
great world views about things
I think that’s one of the really cool
things about mega doses we’re not having
to write about you know death and
destruction and you know zombies and all
that kind of stuff which is all called
great and I love all that stuff but he
can write a lot of things about politics
or whatever and still get it across in
the metal format
there’s been lineup changes and you know
a lot of members have had solo projects
and stuff so do you guys find that very
difficult to deal with it always changes
the band dynamic but usually it changes
it for the battery at the end you have
to be a team player doing this you all
have to have the common goal to want to
succeed and want to you know you have to
be in the same musical path Epis in the
same personal path for whatever reason
you know guys there’s been band member
changes throughout the years but again
we’re still here we’re still valid we’re
still viable this is Dave’s baby and no
matter who he replaces somebody with
that person is also great so there’s
never been like a real like a you know a
personal all in the band all that all
the cast members of this band has been
great
in that februari of 2010 that dave
ellefson he reunited back with the band
what was that reunion like for you guys
a situation rose were where our bass
players of time was going to be replaced
with that said in my mind there was no
other choice but David Ellison we had to
get him back in the van the only trick
was to get David to agree to it and get
Dave to agree to it so it happened so
fast but then I swear within two days he
was driving down from Arizona we were
rehearsing it’s worked out great it’s
been really great so we’re thrilled to
have him back

what does it mean to have Megadeth
considered as one of the pioneers of the
American thrash movement Megadeth is I
mean they’re part of the big four that
that started that all around of speed
and fresh metal I mean it says a lot man
I mean this has been going on for over
25 26 27 years now in the fact that this
music so valid actually getting and
almost bigger than ever it’s ever been
it’s uh it’s a beautiful thing we’re all
happy that we’re still here
