by the name of shawn desman and he will
tell us all about his album so let’s go

catch myself staring at your face when
you’re not awake I just can’t
let’s talk about your first single
shiver no one talks about that sings the
thing that everybody tells me is like
that’s not what they expected and that’s
exactly what I wanted to hear I’m just
the type of artist where I refuse to
blend into the pack and do what
everybody else is doing for me as an
artist artistically and creatively I
have to stand up and I think shiver was
a standout single never eat soggy
clothes I also i think the video was
just beautiful I think it’s a beautiful
piece its artistic and it’s exactly at
this point in my career exactly where I
needed to be most interesting is that
you named you title job refresh why was
it it’s a fresh look for me it’s a new
look it’s a new sound you know if you
listen to this record it’s I think it’s
a lot bigger than the other two records
in terms of the audience that it will
reach if you listen to it from top to
bottom it’s about a crazy night with
somebody that I necessarily shouldn’t
fell in love with so each song
represents a different piece of the
night you know tums and which is cool so
next time you just to the record when
you list witless to it with that in the
back your mind and you’ll get it like
okay cool I get it
that every time you close the album
cover toast were the idea came from the
sambuca it’s all about a vibe you know
me Matt Barnes who shot the photos is
just like you guys see that it’s just an
incredible photographer when when he
came up with this idea I was like doodoo
nail you hit the nail right on the head
he’s like let’s take a keyboard and like
take the insides of the keyboard and
bring them out you know I’m saying and
put them on the top of it we painted
silver and it’s like honestly that’s
like a keyboard from the future you know
I’m saying after he took it I was like
that’s got to be that’s the album cover
like we would even happen let’s we can
keep taking more pictures but I know
like this is the one
your first album went platinum your
second album you receded you know what
our expectations for the third out you
really just hope that people like the
record and like the music you know what
I mean and if I can win some of awards
along the way and make get a platinum
record all the better people are
starting to realize especially in the
industry and in Canada that I’m not just
that little kid that came out in 2002
with the tracksuit thinking he was cool
music is my life you know I’m saying I’m
a writer I’m a producer I’m an artist
and this is what I do I don’t know

not just here for the short run i’m here
for the long haul you know i mean i just
