Roberts the female impersonator I was in
repertory in high school studying
theater craft and we went to see the
Rocky Horror Picture Show you’ve seen
all kinds of movies but you’ve never
seen anything like the Rocky Horror
Picture Show and we all got all dressed
up in costume and I went in in full drag
and they went not bad Randy so I I
started entering contests and doing
shows in clubs and I turned to the
person where I was with and I said I can
do better than that
so I auditioned the next weekend got
hired impersonating people like who
Bette Midler shared
Joan Rivers some legendary actors like
Mae West I have some original characters
I do as well what are you getting ready
for right now this is the show legged I
I’m making an appearance as Bette Midler
and an appearance as cher so I’m doing
my makeup now basically sort of share
Midler I love Streisand but I can’t seem
to get her voice down it’s a unique
instrument I like Celine Dion her voice
is amazing
I mean I’d be too bruised from hitting
my chest well what is it that you have
two quintessentially get to be believed
as a female the trick is it’s not the
things you would think of because if you
watch women and men what you consider to
be feminine on a woman sometimes is not
on stage it’s not so much that I
impersonate a woman i impersonate a
particular person for cher you have to
carry yourself this year which she
walked with a certain gait she moves her
her head a certain way when she sings
that the throwing the hair over the
shoulder and then that Midler I mean you
have to hold your face in a totally
different way I’m aware of my whole body
when I’m on stage but that’s with any
character I always wanted to be on the
stage my goal was Broadway and I found a
gimmick that kept me working when most
out-of-work actors were waiting tables
in restaurants where I was eating so I
liked it better that they were waiting
on me and I wasn’t waiting on them I’m a
