Interview with Professional Skateboarder Greg Lutzka

this pro skateboarder is known for his
laid-back style both on and off the
board
hi I’m Mahalo Coleman and welcome to
watchmojo.com today we’ll be speaking
with Greg Lutz gun
so tell me how did you get into
skateboarding that basically got a
skateboarding I was like 11 years old
growing up in the Midwest Milwaukee
started playing ice hockey some of the
guys on the team skated and I gave it up
and just like skateboarding and that’s
my life now so from day one I loved it
right now you live in California how
does the skating scene there differ from
your hometown the hometowns like it’s
just more raw real just rough spots it’s
real raw skateboarding which I like
California like everything so like
picture-perfect the weather is always
good the spots are always perfect and I
like I like coming out here he’s like
it’s just real and its raw and it’s
skateboarding and skateboards raw well
you feel very passionate about it how do
you keep that passion alive I’m 26 now
but like you know I was once that little
kid I still that little kid just people
gave me high you know like there’s no
role models there’s no favorite this or
that just like I get inspired by people
that I’d love to do their thing so it’s
good do you do any other sport uh
snowboard sir you know barbecue is that
sport that’s a sport barbecue is a sport
that’s as far we’re gonna make it a
sport
is there anything else that you do to
keep in shape or to Train absolutely
nothing I just live my life
and I mean I skate every day I have funk
my friends and I travel the world and I
learn every day it’s kind of crazy
because my school teachers when I was in
you know sixth grade are actually
writing me emails like Wow we see you in
GV now like I told you I’m gonna do it
and if you weren’t a skateboarder what
would you be if I was not a skateboarder
and I’m not flipping boards I probably
flipping burgers and we don’t want to do
with that we cannot do that with our
life we really can’t and how long do you
think that you’ll keep skateboarding for
for the rest of my life I do for the
rest of my life I’ll be skateboarding
have your old man or the skateboard how
do you cope with injuries and how are
you gonna keep skateboarding when you’re
gonna be an old man I think the more I
get injured the more I love to skate
because when you get injured you cannot
state and that makes you want to go
skate you know like when life is groovy
and you’re like out there you know you
don’t really think much of it but when
you’re hurt you can’t do it that’s what
drives you so it’s good to get hurt
because it takes you away from your
comfort zone and when you’re taking away
from your comfort zone it makes you want
to go shred
thank you so much Aiko thank you so much
