Interview with One Night Band – One Night Wasn’t Enough

they were only supposed to be together
for one night hi I’m Rebecca Britain and
welcome to watchmojo.com and today we’re
speaking with two of the members of one
night back describe your music for us we
play reggae play more early reggae than
like reach rigging you know like Bob
Marley is more into roots reggae we play
more the old stuff like this 60s reggae
that’s the kind of rain a real eye for
the new record we add a little bit of
like soul touching to who or what have
been your musical influences we listen
to a lot of stuff I know Pascal listen a
lot to like country music folk music my
background is more ska and reggae for
the band i would say that the main
influences are Desmond Dekker prince
buster there’s also like the aggrolites
yeah we have a lot of influences mainly
old school reggae tell us a story about
how you guys got together we were a
bunch of friends we decided to form a
band for one night and it was a benefit
concert back in 2003 and then we played
that show we just decided to keep going
you know we we got some other show
offers so we took them and we started
like maybe a year after we started to
write our own material describe a live
show it’s raw it’s it’s fast and like
people dance and it’s good times you
know we just have a good time we enjoy
being on stage yeah one people can into
it like everyone’s dancing usually it’s
not too long after the show starts like
people are just rushing the stage and
dancing everywhere so it’s kind of nice
feeling now you guys aren’t the only one
night band around how would you say you
differentiate yourself from the others I
know there’s a one night band in the
Czech Republic they play a bad
music like it’s really bad sorry sorry
guys let my baby way back home
