known for the ska influenced punk music
this band is seen by many as influential
hi my name is stephanie and welcome to
watchmojo.com and today we’re talking to
chris from less than jake
so you guys have been together for over
15 years so just wanting first of all
like what is perhaps the most important
lesson you guys have learned or how
would you say you guys have grown in all
this time well our waist lines have
grown we have hair on our back now and
baby wipes for the secret to being a
band for a long time shower in a box and
how would you say you guys have grown as
a musical unit just being in the band
that long either you’re gonna get better
or you’re not going to get better and i
think as musicians we’ve gotten better
our songwriting that’s another thing
that’s debatable
I know you guys have quite a few members
and you also have a lot of special
guests either like when you guys are on
stage or all the albums and stuff so do
you guys find it really difficult to
have to sort of coordinate so many
people there’s usually no coordination
it’s usually a couple shots on stage and
you start thinking wacky things at home
and it took her out of this together
just kind of just naturally happens so
it’s not it’s not too thought out
usually by the way you’re the guest of
honor on stage tonight that’s great how
do you keep kind of the music fresh or
even for four of yourself as well but
also for a new potential audience lots
of showers it’s how they keep fresh we
never stopped touring as a band I think
that was the big thing we’ve got into
areas now South America and Europe where
we really hit hard in the last couple
years and now we’re starting to see that
pay off or people want to come see us
play so I think the secret to us is in
terms of staying fresh I only know
musically for if that’s happening but
certainly our live shows is gotten
better I actually wanted to talk about a
gin vs LA and which is the most recent
record and I’ve read that it’s a return
to your roots so can you elaborate a bit
more is it just musically or would you
say as well like lyrically that’s
something our publicist road which he’s
a good guy he’s awesome but return to
our roots yeah there’s a lot of lot of
fast beats a lot of ska and lots of horn
so that’s back to our roots than this
back to our roots
I’m city sirens sing the night away
I think pretty much everyone in the band
has sort of some kind of solo project or
promotion companies and stuff like that
so heads it really difficult for you
guys to kind of stay together and
concentrate on less than jake what do
you guys do to deal with any tensions
that might arise from these ones married
there’s no kids attention
you
