Interview with Latin Musician Alex Cuba

his Spanish love songs have made him one
of the fastest rising stars on the Latin
music scene hi I’m Rebecca Braden and
welcome to watchmojo.com and today we’re
speaking with alex cuba come on up on ya
heinous a picture of your background and
tell us how that is coming to kind of
effect the music you’ve come to make you
know I grew up in a family of musicians
Missy was there for me every day and on
top of that my father was the guitar
teacher at a cultura center across the
street from my house and that place that
you know the teach every instrument so
he was like go to school come back and
go there how’s my life pretty much it
stays in one article i read it said that
your father controlled the music you
listen to when you were growing up is
that true as we tell stories you know
they they change from our know from
reader to reader what he did was when i
started singing which was the last thing
I did in my career he wasn’t to convince
with it because I was already bass
player I think it’s a player and he will
say things like oh you know what keep
playing your base you know you don’t
have a voice of a singer something that
maybe I used as an incentive you know to
become poem today and he’s my biggest
fan today so it’s good so what kind of
music did you grow up listening to from
the moment i guess i was born to when i
was around 11 so i was mainly listening
to her music traditional music but then
America comes in starting with Michael
Jackson you know from there when I was
14 I switched to the base and through
the race I started listen to him or just
you know American jazz funk rock
everything you know and then from there
I was like no everything mixed it’s been
like that forever you know
now you’re mentioning all these musical
genres that you listen to what what
genres have you experimented with
throughout your career that is a really
wicked question because some believe me
we still we still trying to find a name
that actually paints the picture of what
I do I don’t think we’ll ever find it
because the type of mutation that I am I
don’t like sticking to one then led to
mix it up and let the audience sort of
tell what I do you know say what they
think I do we came up with a little
later named that sort of paints a little
bit of the picture we say that with what
we do is Q and so rock I mean
unconfident that is still more than that
