we spoke two guitarists monkey and
drummer ray from corn to learn about how
the band returned to their roots on this
record
so your latest album corn 3 remember who
you are was recorded as a four-piece
band without any pro tools without any
editing wondering why did you guys
choose this more simplistic approach
this was how we recorded our first two
albums our producer Ross Robinson
produced those two records since we
brought him back in the studio to help
us record this latest record that’s how
it was going to be well like it or not
some of us liked it someone was
suggested to it
it was pretty cool actually from
creative standpoint and play the song
from beginning to end without sort of
cheating and using pro tools to cut copy
paste
we’re tight room like that nothing
escapes like we’re all really close to
each other so like nothing got out of
that little room you know so recording
in that same environment just transpired
to tape

I heard that you did some pretty
experimental techniques with producer
Ross Robinson in the studio can you tell
me a bit about that he’ll do some
unusual stuff while you’re tracking you
know I grabbed the guitar grab you like
like what the hell man hit just do it to
kind of jar you or him jump behind rays
drums and holds one of his arms behind
us while we go to fill yeah well i’ll
use factory tracking the song
I think that’s kind of part of what he
does this piss you off it’s his hole
that he wants to bring that out of you
like no matter what you’re doing away
with your snow with John too I mean he’s
digging deep into his head for emotions
and would leave there you know sweating
crying bleeding blood tears our new
album blood tears
