Eagles of Death Metal originally got
together the band actually has a
mystical origin through smoking jazz
cigarettes one night outside of a bar
called the beer hunter a dude listening
the winds have changed by the scorpions
started rocking out and my friend my
best friend in the entire world Joshua
ha me and I were watching him like what
the hell is going on with his old boy
and he looked at the city goes what this
is rock and roll and I go no it’s not he
goes dude this heavy metal and Josh goes
no time he goes dude it’s death metal
and I went dude this is like the Eagles
of Death Metal and then the band made us
so you guys consider yourself the Eels
now we consider ourselves the tickly
place between Eagles and death metal who
do you guys consider some of your main
in fields like who did you grow up
listening to I grew up with this weird
influx of soul funk gospel and I grew up
in the south so a healthy dose of
bluegrass of nobility but my main
influence is a Keith Richards George
Clinton and Madonna gonna catch any
dance moves in a new shoes oh yes babe
back I’m gonna make a special dance move
just for you girl do it not here not in
front of the guys would you say that the
band’s music has evolved over its
history and how so when we first started
I sucked really bad truly I don’t even
play guitar for six months so I was
limited and a lot of my songs were
written beyond my means of performance
so we’ve evolved in that now we try to
make records on purpose that don’t suck

where do you guys usually get your
inspiration from what kind of stuff do
you like to I just put on my favorite
records and start rewriting there ain’t
nothing new Under the Sun baby I don’t
want to be different I just want to be
the same as Little Richard let’s all
look at it I’m living to make Little

at a show like this what do you think
sets you apart to have people come and
see you guys I really like girls really
I got that impression and I really do
that definitely sets me apart from buses
advance and I’m just here to have a good
time I’m just here to shake my dick and

do any funny pre-show rituals we all
kiss each other the band we all get in a
circle and kiss each other because we
love each other it’s to remind us that
love is first what kind of advice would
you give to younger bands starting out
just remember that if it looks like an
