this female fronted hard rock band is on
a mission to kick some serious ass I’m

speaking with the band called hail storm
why don’t you guys tell us a little bit
about the origin story hail storm it’s
it’s a it’s a very long and sad story no
I’m kidding it’s actually it was founded
by myself and my brother RJ I was 13 and
he was 10 at the time we named it hail
storm and everything and got a little
obsessed but this is too much
hey
on our way to our first show ever we had
written one song together called love
his power edit ourselves in a talent
show named the band hailstorm locked up
there it was an epic like five minute
original song with a drum solo in the
middle of it ya wanna and we ended up
winning third place but losing to a
tap-dancing cowgirl you guys have been a
band for ten years now you guys just put
out your debut album not so long ago why
such the long wait technically it’s what
like our fifth or sixth it out but but
it’s the first time that we’re actually
being pushed to radio and have a machine
behind us so we just I don’t know you
know we took our time with everything
and and so far has been working out good
for us because every step we take I feel
like we’re ready for
what kind of music did you guys grow up
in listening to Ronnie James Dio and Van
Halen and Cinderella and Alice Cooper
and Black Sabbath those of the like I
think our common thread is a band was
sort of the classic rock feel it’s
something we we all just sort of grew up
on there’s something about classic rock
that you can always kind of go back to
it and I’m not saying that we’re you
know we’re not a vintage band we’re not
a dated band we’re not trying to like
bring stuff back it’s just you know the
bottom line has always been the
weightiness of the classic rock feel and
there’s something about that you can
always go back to those songs and learn
something new from no matter how old
they are
you
because you are the lead singer of the
band what advantages and disadvantages
do you find us having a female as a lead
singer you use it as kind of this uh
this weapon in your back pocket you know
and and you take people by surprise
they’re like oh well I didn’t expect a
girl to come out there and do that so
tell me a bit about your life show then
what’s that like we have a great time I
sometimes I described it as a kick in
the teeth and a kiss in the face kind of
a weird give and take we like to play
some games and and just yeah and and
just have a good time with everybody is
