like how do we keep focus and how do we
keep the ship right in the right way
they started off as a band you said that
you didn’t only want to be a band of
about entertainment you said that you
also wanted to sort of educate people
about your fundamental belief behind the

well very much so I think the
fundamental belief in the band is the
band’s name anti-flag is the breaking
down of invisible separations whether it
be race religion social social class how
much money you make in a year how much
little you care about money all around
the world these invisible separations
exists to keep us apart
we’re a band of citizens of the world
your career you always talked about like
politics you know fascism racism etc so
right now what do you think is perhaps
the most important theme or topic that
people should be aware of we’re starting
to see a troop withdrawal in Iraq that’s
awesome
the closing down of Guantanamo Bay great
you know like those are brainers but you
know at the same time you have Barack
Obama giving these bailouts out to these
two you know the same people that got us
into this mess you’re supposedly the
world’s leader there’s not one thing in
particularly that’s greater than another
I think that that’s for individuals to
pick themselves as to what issue you
know strikes it forward in their heart
and what is their calling you guys
criticize Bush’s administration’s I was
earning if you could say one thing to
him today what would it be I think I
would say thanks we were in a band in
the year 2000 when George Bush was
elected we were contesting his when we
knew that he would be detrimental for
society at that point but people were
shutting us up people were saying you
can’t criticize the president we were
banned in 2001 when September 11th
happened we were taking heaps of shit
for it and then you fast-forward to the
election of Barack Obama I was at the
inauguration
they showed Bush on the screen and two
million people booed you know and it’s
like and they like thanks like thanks
for being such a god that
we were able to you know have a little
bit of i-told-you-so would also be able
to to write the ship that was on a very
wrong path
there’s still people always who are
hungry for something that’s about more
than just girls and drugs and music that
that actually strikes a chord with them
mentally and emotionally and that’s what
