Interview With Against Me! on White Crosses

their fifth studio album white crosses
was leaked online months before its
scheduled release to rave reviews hi I’m
Rebecca Brayton and welcome to
watchmojo.com and today we’re speaking
with basis andrew seward of against me
about the album and the draw of vinyl
now let’s talk about the new album white
crosses why don’t you tell us what you
guys were going for and where you think
it fits into the catalog spent a lot of
time on it and it’s like a very complete
thought of the band I think Tom
completely not just to standing there
either um he upped his game on this and
I think he wrote just amazing lyrics and
stuff like that i’m not trying to kiss
the ass and my own band member but i’m
i’m a fan of his lyrics so i wouldn’t be
the vamp I wasn’t
I just
wanted to ask actually about the leaking
situation how do you feel about that as
a bent you can’t let above you it’s it’s
like the trains coming at you full speed
are you gonna get run over you’re just
gonna get on i will say we’re pretty
lame though we didn’t know how to steal
our own record like i was looking it up
on google’s like against me white
crosses leaked it would take me to
mediafire some other kind of like file
sharing and the back enter your credit
card number to get your account like
down I mean kidding I’m not doing that
so technically we can’t even steal
around record
one thing I do hope is that people
understand that it’s going to sound so
much better on vinyl vision of that
that’s not just like a plea to go by the
vinyl record it’s a plea to go buy a
record player everyone should own a
record player
why do you tell us more about what draws
you to vinyl actually having the artwork
this big and not just having on your
iTunes we click on and go or whatever
that looks cool I’m never gonna see that
again my first punk bands we put out
seven inches we wouldn’t put out tapes
it’s not being a snob it just sounds
better like the analog hiss and crack
and pop of it really brings more to life
vitals just cool
