and Josh Kimmel about their upcoming
film one love benzene’s one representing
one love one love the film com check it
out so tell me what’s the film one love
about one love is a story of four
couples who are each in pursuit of
conceiving a child and so you know the
topic of the movie is basically what the
trials and tribulations are that
sometimes go along with it what’s the
inspiration for the story of one love
I’ve done a lot of comedies in short
comedies really don’t win at festivals
they don’t win the Golden Globes they
don’t win the Oscars what films do do
well at festivals are dramas and death
as more bits that sound and i figured i
was talking to bens I’m like what better
than as bad as it sounds what better
than the death of babies possibly what
inspired you as an actor to play a role
in the film he basically wanted a three
or four different couples different
races and cultures there was only one
white couple I had the writers write
something up with four different
storylines I didn’t tell them which
couple is going to be playing which and
it just turned out I was without giving
her while I was slotted into one
specific category to play where my wife
is having a baby and because I was
producing it a it kind of slotted myself
and I was strong-armed into playing this
role by bens well first of all I was
forced into doing it by Josh no what
happened was you know a lot of times
like right now I’m working another
project and I’m playing you know a
really bad man but the one love
character I’m playing it’s such a nice
man that’s interesting for me to play
cuz I mean it’s closer to who i am but
very far from who I normally play
Malcolm and his wife Alicia are looking
to adopt a child and so that’s their
storyline what happens you know along
the way with them so it’s definitely I
mean it’s interesting to play for me to
play straight guy sometimes too when II
hope audiences will get out of seeing
with someone love for me it’s a
conversation starter I mean even
whenever we start talking about it even
if you will start talking right now you
know it we’d bring up some other stuff
like things that you that I never knew
you know never heard of before never
really explored there’s so many
different layers of this film with
cultural differences and babies and the
lack thereof and the strive for the one
love the one love being everybody trying
to have the one love in their life
something that’s more important to them
than their own life is so i think that
people come up with a lot of different
emotions and I think that’s will get
people talking that’s what we want we
want people talking about it what are
your future plans now that you’re done
with this project what are you going to
move on to next well we have the the
feature film version of this we already
have some investors that are already
coming up talking a couple distributors
that may be interested for this you need
to present them the final product of
this short film and the final product of
the feature-length script which is
getting written as we speak we got a lot
more leeway to develop these characters
and make it more interesting because
people watch the trailer and they say
this should be a feature film we’re
gonna hit the whole festival circuit you
know we’re not gonna Sara Lee pinpoint
and limit where we want to go you know
we want to go where ever we r wanted to
be and we feel that we have a strong
project one that could definitely you
know be developed into a feature film
and so the sky’s the limit really so we
definitely see big things for love
